Speech-Language Pathologist in the schools.
It’s called reduplicated babbling, a typical stage of language development. They absolutely mimic intonation patterns heard around them. That’s why people will insist that their baby said their “first word” at like 5 months old…the prosody is so well matched, it sounds like a real word.
Congratulations. I’m in the middle of chemo now, surgery still to come. Hoping I can say “cancer free” soon-ish.

I am a speech pathologist at a high school. I tell all of my students to look for this situation. They never believe me.
