As best I understand it, it is both the sending and receiving modems probing in both directions to determine the frequency for bitrate accuracy, and any mismatch due to the degradation of signal over a given length of wire. They're just talking and then saying "Hey, you sound a little off by (x) amount of Hz, reduce power by (y) dB and we can shake hands at 33600bps." That milliseconds long trill before the static is them agreeing, and the static is them flushing out details for bitrate+signal
I can't remember who or where I heard it from, but it has stuck in my brain, that the gender neutral of Lord or Lady would be Ledan; if you were to go off of similar etymological roots that is. I quite like that.

I remember this storm, 3 years ago, July 2021 in Alabama. It was sudden and powerful. They probably only started recording only a minute after it arrived, and it calmed down shortly after (maybe 4 minutes). They should have started the closing process, but were probably just shocked and marveled at the power of it all.
Here in Alabama, some families of incarcerated persons who passed serving their time have alleged that they have been missing some organs upon their body being returned to the family. Supposedly, organs ARE being stolen without permission.

It looks to be more than just the anchor point. In the slow-mo before the band hits the water, near the rock (side closest to camera) you can see the steel snap in half. My guess is even if the anchor held, that steel was too corroded to hold and it would have still fallen.
Yeah but the time traveler can always return to the moment they left, and continue living out their life as normal, so it is possible to meet ones future self. However if they've been missing for the whole time, either they never went back to their own time by choice, or something happened after they went forward to that time. Could be a suspenseful thriller about not knowing WHY you never went back.
