I googled "Umbrella with flashlight" and what I assume is this came up as a result on Amazon.

No, it's not. It's fewer people dying. And the ban's impact on that is debatable at best.
In the US, the 3rd worst mass shooting in history was carried out by some nut 2 small cal pistols. Not okay.
I'm pretty sure that unless there are zombies in Australia, dead people stay dead regardless of what they were killed with.
The stabbed people are still dead. You still have mass shootings (defined as 4+ injured/dead)
If weapons are more expensive but your homicide rate isn't changing from trend, how is that an improvement?
