My council is doing mail in o my, no democracy sausage. It’s an outrage. Although speaking to some mates it sounds like my council’s candidates are the most sane in all of Melbourne.
Just voted in my local government election. In Aussie so I get a fine if I don’t, but I actually thought about the candidates before I voted so yay me!
You can do it, it’s super shitty but there are jobs out there! Someone will see how awesome you are.

Got a career coach as part of my redundancy package, best advice was make your resume a simple word doc with minimal formatting, tailor it every time so the duties in the ad match an achievement in your career history, and use percents or hard data to show results. So for generating profit you might say ‘introduced new cross selling program that generated …% increased profit’.
Also wrong Caesar, that comes from the Latin word for cut
My friend is a paediatric oncology nurse. She loves it, she’s been in a few specialties and this is the thing that makes her happy. She had two young kids and I absolutely can’t understand how she does it, but she reckons having kids made her love it more.
What’s up with the project? Not saying Pickering didn’t deserve to be called out on this but did they do something else I totally missed?
Hopefully that helps someone out there even a little. I have been in a position of great privilege in my career to be picky and choose positions that work with my family setup but this time I have taken something not anything like what I was hoping for just to get out of this job market. Guessing they were going to say now known as the rabbit proof fence, which used to be the longest fence in the world (3,253km or about LA to Detroit in American units) until Australia built a dingo proof fence which overtook it.
Have played flute for many years, I’ve *heard* some players can do circular breathing but never met one. I don’t know a lot about circular breathing but for something like this the breath control and diaphragm strength is insane

Australia’s just had an inquiry into our two supermarket chains, and they’ve done it to the level the inquiry has said it likely impacted the overall economy. They’re talking about making MASSIVE corrections, there’s even been some calls to make supermarkets partially public sector.

I had such a hard time breastfeeding because I had this CONSTANT stream that it’s ok to give up, you should give up, why are you still doing this. I got told I was selfish because my partner couldn’t participate in feeding, that breastfeeding would make it harder to start solids, you name it. I am a big fed is best believer but I do think we have neglected mothers by not telling them breastfeeding is a skill both mum and bub needs to learn, and having the default be give up if it gets tough.
No, that’s true. Breastmilk has immunoglobulin A and a bunch of other antibodies, breastfed babies have much lower risk of respiratory, ear and gastrointestinal infections.
Can you explain that for my friend? I totally know about this vid but my friend feels like they missed something.

I worked with academics at one point. This woman who had multiple PHDs, possibly one of the smartest people I’ve ever met, was also completely incapable of practical things. She was trying to do some project, would work on it all day then save it, then never be able to find it again. It happened for weeks and she was hysterical losing all the work. Turns out she was saving to a USB but not putting it in to open the file. She had like 30 copies of this doc on the USB, all first drafts.
Was once at a cafe with a guy who ordered an iced mocha, and when it came he spat it out saying ‘ugh, it’s cold and it tastes like coffee.’ I genuinely didn’t know what to say, but he was SO MAD!
I feel like the one in the left is shopped in that, the right feels like the real one (not the OP, just the one here)
