#35 from the opposite perspective: I had a coworker who was regularly chastised for not having safety toe shoes because they looked like normal vans. They were absolutely safety toe shoes. It wouldn't surprise me if some of those "dress shoes" were safety toe and they didn't like that you needlessly scuffed them
