Strange New Worlds has gotten back into Star Trek having serialised stories, a couple subplots that pop back up, and a heavy amount of SciFi Whimsy that means you get weird but fun episodes like Fantasy Realm mind control, Musical episode, Animated crossovers, and some great character drama among the episodes. There's actual world building and the climax of an episode of season isn't just "Somethings gonna destroy the galaxy" which just gets boring and anticlimactic because we know they survive.
