One of my dogs even put the connection between spelling out “walk” or “run” with going out and she’ll lose her mind
My dog goes by Ella. Which is obviously short for mozzarella.
#27 our cat who had been trapped as feral and put in the shelter is the most aggressively affectionate fluff ball. He started out as a demon, but he’s the softest boy for the people he knows
And, if a coworker with less experience gets hired and turns out to be making more than you, a person with experience, we have to intentionally reject the temptation to be bitter with the new hire, and turn that dissatisfaction back toward the people we work for. This happens all the time in my industry, and it only seeks to divide workers if people don’t get angry at the actual problem.
It def depends and deep is relative to the area it’s going in and the technique required. Also, if you only need a few stitches, the numbing shot may actually hurt worse than the stitches would. Some clean cuts where you can get the bleeding controlled, you can just use some tight, well aligned steri-strips and avoid the whole thing.
#5 for real though, I know people joke about “oh well I’m glad I learned algebra or _____ in school but not my taxes,” but I use cross multiply and dividing all the time.
Along with #5, half done is more done than it would have been if you left it for when you had “enough” time or energy. How to Keep House while Drowning is an excellent book about changing how you think about tasks and yourself related to them.
I love this perspective. I have developed arthritis and left sided hearing loss since playing the violin from so young, but it’s still been an outlet I have loved and have appreciated into adulthood. Sometimes, expression might not be the most bodily healthy thing, even if you genuinely love and rely upon it as a child. But life is more than existing in this body. No one should be forced into performing where they aren’t passionate, but emotional outlets also give the body purpose.
Definitely take some time to have a good cry if you need it. You and the chemicals in your body did a lot of good work! and you’ll get rid of the stress hormones eventually, by choice or inadvertently, just make sure to listen to yourself.
Was a CNA for years before getting my nursing license. One day, I thought to myself “man, people starting at mcdonalds make more than I do.” Then I almost instantly thought “yeah, but there’s no way I could put up with working in food service, so it’s cool.”
No one should be required/expected to sacrifice their bodily autonomy for studies/experiments. It makes the study unethical and compromises even positive findings.
After the second description, I was like “ah, same, probably a nurse,” and then I saw the family guy meme and was like *tom face*
Right? At least at the hospital if a coworker asks “are you f’n stupid?!” that’s usually what they mean… or they’re saying “I don’t remember the content/policy well enough to correct you constructively, so I’m gonna be a dick,” in which case, we just quote them in the chart and they get all the fun emails instead of me
Doing good and having joy, even for yourself, even if it looks meaningless, is a worthwhile venture that impacts things to come,
One of my favorite Doctor Who quotes is “you should always waste time, especially when you don’t have any. Time is not the boss of you.”
Her video before this where she talks about a different mom telling her “I’m gonna have my staples longer than I have my baby” was haunting.
My husky however, figured out how to get out of the yard and run through every snowbank in the neighborhood.
I kind of hate that the one blue point for NE is on the opposite side of the state from where that came from
It’s the “taking off a pt’s socks and getting a few toes that come with” experience for me
Yes! High tops have never been so accessible!
Just got my RN a few months ago and was a CNA for 3yrs before that and this post gave me secondhand relief for you!
But it’ll be a cold day in hell before the tree goes up before at least halfway through November 😅
Am the same way. It brings me a lot of joy to find thoughtful gifts people will use and cherish, so I look all year.
