Cask of Amontillado - Poe
I might have been polite enough to point out her "Idiot" badge was showing.
You can't convince him that this actually happened. "Fake news. It isn't possible that many people would come out to protest me.
In all seriousness, I came west from NY to KY about 30 years ago; there is no need to rig the elections here. There are lefty pockets - Lexington, Louisville and Frankfort are all university/college towns - but it is hardly unanimous even there. And there is a lot of area between, again not unanimous but very, very red. Most political literature up to state level is about the candidate's family and which church they go to. Sadly, the coal mining areas seem to have lost all memory of unions.

Just send me twenty bucks and I'll send you the T shirt, laminated membership card and gift certificate for Starbucks.
Not all Trump supporters are dumbasses, but all dumbasses are Trump supporters. Coming from a US citizen deep in the red hatted wilds of Kentucky. (You think intelligent people would repeatedly send Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul to the senate?)
We'd all be able to afford to go to brunch.
But some Congresspeople of both parties in both houses are questioning the legality of the funds transfer. Trump and Hegseth haven't actually said where the money is coming from. This is really stepping hard on the toes of Congress who appear spineless in other situations but who are feisty abut protecting their right to allocate funds.
The House has its own rules and procedures. If they are violated, there is no guarantee that any member sworn in that way would be seated. At the very least there will be years of judicial wrangling while the Republicans squeal.
I don't remember any such event - IF they quashed it, was it because the Republicans attached some poison pill amendments? That is a typical response of the right when something slips past them. Dates? References? I couldn't find any.
That is the stupidest thing she has ever said, and she really had to reach to make that mark.
CNN is reporting the facts as they have them. Just reporting "the bodies were returned" would be a coverup. Instead, they provided a full enough picture that a reader would conclude that these hostages or prisoners were tortured and murdered. CNN has no witnesses yet, so it could have been IDF, Israeli terrorists, radical Israeli settlers, etc. What is absolutely clear is that Israel as a country is responsible for these horrific deaths even if the particular murderers are not yet known.
There's a difference between "going low" and "mocking". Slinging mud on Trump is pointless - like all pigs, he wallows in it. Mocking him drains his power. It's perhaps the best way to politically attack a tyrant.
#20 Your forgot to give the link to the Etsy shop.
Did I miss something? What exactly did Trump do? Netanyahu spent two years destroying Gaza and killing Palestinians and once there was nothing but rubble and corpses remaining he stopped (more or less and conditionally) and Trump wants credit for making peace?
They can go back to the classics - Jimmy Hoffa and, for the real trivia enthusiasts, Judge Crater.
We're losing a beautiful planet.
Kombucha is fermented tea formed by a culture of mold and bacteria. These are symbionts which make an environment that is hostile to other microbes. The same goes for ale, cider, wine and mead - all originally produced in open vats. Sauerkraut and kimchee are fermented by microbes found on the plants in the field. Cheeses were originally produced by local airborne microbes; so was sourdough bread. Etc. etc. You say you get irrationally angry - maybe just say "irrational" and leave it at that.
I keep playing Vance's answer over and over again and each time my houseplants get a little bigger and a little greener/
Furry Lisa?
Yeah, but we use spoons for rice pudding, so there!
During the speeches, surveillance cameras recorded the faces of everyone in the audience. The images will be analyzed by AI to determine the microexpressions each officer made at critical points, and the ones that expressed disgust, irritation, impatience, etc. will be retired fairly quickly. Loyalist potato heads are required to lead the US military and drive the country into a Christo-fascist dictatorship.
There's an old saying - three can keep a secret of two are dead. How could 274 agents plus the network to organize them and to collect their data be brought together on short notice and NOT ONE of these people talked. Not to their family, drinking buddies, press or Trumpy undercover agents? Even the Mafia would have trouble enforcing that level of security.
I can't question your integrity or impartiality because I haven't found any yet.
I think he was measured by the same doctor who said Trump is 6'3" and 224 lbs.
Absolutely beautiful. The overlay on the leaves looks great - the interior lines are more delicate and proportional than piecing them. BTW, I don't want to start a whole "blue/black vs white/gold dress" tsimmis here, but are the background pieces red or purple?
My dog would have looked at the officer and thought, "Cookie? Do you have a cookie? I'd like a cookie, please? Can I have a cookie?" etc.
My point was freshthrowaway1138 was faulting the Independent for leaving out salient facts on a story strictly tangential to the main story while dropping similarly salient facts which countered his sense of indignation.
