My take: The oligarchs would really like to have (maintain?) their monopolies (media, retail, ISP). The left is a threat. The FTC, DoJ under Harris is a threat. The Right offers tax cuts and deregulation. Of course the billionaire owned media outlets would like Trump to have credibility (even if they dislike him and his cult) so that he might win... or at least so they can extract concessions from the left.

I think you are right. My speculation: Biden administration antitrust enforcement scares them.
I think he means we need more educated voters who will support less stupid candidates.
