As an older white guy, I can tell you that it takes a lot to perceive the brainwashing and then break out of it. I'm not wealthy but lines like "tough on crime" still hit me in a way that requires contemplation to see for what it is.
I just can't help but wonder if popularization of merch, etc, that Lucas stated was nazi iconography will age well. It in the category with the Dukes of Hazard when it comes to things like, "Oh, maybe that isn't such a great idea in retrospect."
