They never thought their charges would stick. It was always about threatening and intimidating people. This has Steven Miller all over it. He wants to make an example and make all Americans afraid.
If it makes you feel better, he’s ruining the USA’s economy too.
I agree that interacting with them gives them power, but the way we used to ignore them was so successful that they ended up dominating the country. Once someone has decided to dominate you, there is no solution that doesn’t involve either combat or escape. The latter is not tenable for the majority of the population, so we have only the first solution. This has been repeatedly demonstrated in the past.
“Moving on” is overrated. We are all carried along whether we like it or not, and there is a big difference between being stuck in the past and kepping hold of what is important. “Moving on” often means “stop incomveniencing me with your grief.” It’s really a terrible phrase that diminishes the speaker as well as the intended audience, because it’s almost always a euphemism for selfish behavior.

I understand the historical accuracy of your statement, but I don’t think it’s as important as it’s often made out to be. Europeans and their colonists believed that non-whites were inherently inferior long before the 17th century, so does it really matter that “race” as we know it today didn’t exist? There was an equivalent idea in play.

Sorry if this sounds pedantic, but ackchuyally… congress makes laws. The court just vets them. Supposedly. Except now with the “shadow docket” that is something they made up themselves, it’s a star chamber. Blech.
Sadly, it _is_ very normal. Not as in “acceptable”, but as in “this isn’t unusual.”

Objects in orbit are falling, but they are moving forward at the same speed, so they don’t get any lower in altitude. Think of it as falling forwards. They’re traveling parallel to the surface, so the flight path has a curve in it to change from their starting orientation.

Water pressure is not a factor - the wreck “feels” no pressure, because it is filled with water. Even where there may be gas pockets, they are also equalized, so there is zero pressure differential between inside and out.
I’m a non-boomer software developer and yet I too feel this way about outlook. There are genuine reasons to resent it. People can tell when their needs are being subordinated to company interests.

I’ll bet $5 he is Latino. Boy, it’s a good thing that in the US weare kicking dangerous people like this out of the country. I for one feel much safer knowing that my concrete will not be adequately repaired, and it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for America!
Something like this happened between myself and Richard Stallman. I found a “zippy the pinhead” reference in his software and sent an email saying “I always knew you were a pinhead!” His staff got me in trouble with the university, but when he found out he personally wrote me a nice email.
