If you get a screenshot of this to the front page, then there will be a screenshot of this on the front page.

Also me. I did all the instructions and went "Oh this is a girl voice." Then I read the title

That rut around the side of the pool. I feel it in my soul

That's hardly fair, boxed wine is often very palatable for its price point

Snowcrash by Neil Stephenson is basically about this, except the malware kills you when you look at it.
If you choose to interpret the neckbeard tech wizard main character as satire (which I'm pretty sure is intentional but I can never be 100% confident now that Poe's Law exists) it's a great read.

I have to grab my 90 lb dogbeast and lay him on my chest to achieve the weighted blanket. I do it at every available opportunity.

Chi Chi elaborates in DBZ that basically they both did (they either got married right before or after the tournament idr which)

Yeah this is what my dog does to crickets when he's brutally murdering them. Lays down like that with the side eye. He's waiting for the cricket to jump away so he can chase it down again. Nature ain't cute

Times tend to get padded to account for small reroutes (see TheNonSequiturFairy's reply), pre-departure delays, turbulence, etc. Sometimes you make up a bunch of that expected time and the pilot gets to tell a joke about taking shortcuts

Yes, the whole train system is underground in NYC

Yes. Calling someone non-human allows us to detach from them emotionally and pretend humans aren't capable of this violence. They are human. We are all capable of such evil (though most are unwilling, thank goodness). These evil humans CHOSE to commit atrocities with the full understanding of the consequences of their actions, and deserve to be punished in a manner befitting those crimes.

Career politicians don't challenge the status quo when they're running for re-election because they don't want to get primaried; Career politicians don't challenge the status quo when they're ready to retire because they don't have any incentive to. Congress needs term limits.

#3 There are 2 metrics by which a game instantly becomes enjoyable. The first is the dressup complexity. The second is whether you can pet the animals.

Don't worry, I'm sure the Canadian troops remember their way into DC. It's only been 214 years since they last dropped by.

The drones are essentially swimming mines, what's stopping Ukraine from blowing a hole in the barricade?

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes they do, why else would they sink so many yachts?

It consumes the oxygen only in the sense that the fire is a reaction that turns fuel + oxygen into CO2 + [other byproducts]. No vacuum is created just by burning O2, that would contradict the law of conservation of matter

If a harmless prank is enough to make a fool of you, but calling a stranger fat on the internet isn't, then I'd recommend re-assessing your worldview.

Flexatone! In high school, the concert percussion section had one and we would have to hide it from most everybody. Only got used on very special (or silly) arrangements

Good. Unless you are cooking for >8 people, nobody needs the whole bird anyways. And that's being extremely generous with portion sizes. A real serving size of turkey meat is 8ish ounces. A 15 lb bird will have about 15 servings of that size. But most people will say to plan for about 1 lb of meat per person for Thanksgiving dinner

Why does the AI voiceover sound like Burger King Foot Lettuce 😭

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There are just way too many of them for anyone to use (with more on the way, thanks AI!)

That's not quite fair - the modern internet gives us our bread & circuses, so data centers do *something* /s

It's phonetic notations. The idea is one sound per written character. But then you have a bunch of subscript /superscript symbols indicating special things our speech holes do, like extra breathing, nasalization, etc. It gets very far away from human language very quickly because there are so many sounds and not so many characters
