I believe in some cases there is a correlation. I teach a trauma informed college group. Most of them have autism or ADHD and half of those are transgender. Of which half of those trans students are non binary.

There are flood myths in most ancient civilizations. There's an interesting book called Hamlet's Mill. Not an easy read, but shows many mirrored and shared aspects of ancient history and mythology.
