Another thing to consider is the efficiency difference between a vehicle's engine and a centralized power plant. As you throw in more and more renewable energy resources, the electrical power grids efficiency gets better per unit of fossil fuels burned compared between the 2 systems. Hence the above map.
Plus the emission capturing capabilities a fossil fuel plant has over a average car keeps the pollutants more centralized and contained.
I'm guessing this might be an event/staff account that takes photos of or from teams to be used in media later and doesn't know that hidden photos will still work when linked to and it dosen't need to be set to public to be viewed.

FIRST Robotics highschool competition robots.
Tldr educational battles bots.
Each year FIRST gives a new game and high-schooler build a new robot in 3 or so months to compete with.
It seems they are using imgur to host team's robot pics and don't realize imgur has a "interesting" community.
I ain't gonna downvote because I was a founding member of one of the teams (2393) and still support FIRST. But without much more context it's a "huh, neat" and move on.
My guess is it's a step in farming natural rubber/ latex.
But I haven't looked up anything to support that past what I've seen in other posts or online research.

I wouldn't worry about it being harmful. Just might cause discomfort. Still insulate your return paths to GND.
EL uses high AC voltage and your body has a lower impedance than the capacitive EL circuit. touch the GNDed usb housing = getting shocked2/2

I would also put a high-value resistor between output and ground in case it's just a floating value
If you have access to an O-Scope I'd measure the output with that to se if you have any waveform. if not try Vac mode on your dmm.
I'd start there, yes. use a 10k ohm resistor to do it incase it's driven high by vcc. Guessing you have a multimeter so test between in &gnd
Input is the trigger signal, output is the light/speaker. I'm guessing the 8pin IC is a 555 timer, so what controls the flashing/sound pitch
Input signal is what triggers the alarm, outputs is what controls the light/speaker.
Output on and off. Probably a speaker or light. Hence the alarm. Bought all I could say based off of pics.
Morbid curiosity got the better of me, I was able to make out one pn on the gray chip. Looks like it's input is 12v and it oscillates an 1/?
Google the part numbers on the IC chips to get a bit more info. Should pull up a data sheet with on digikey w/ info. Prob a buck converter
