I would start by teaching Sit pretty, then sit pretty and hold (start with an easy object like a broom stick) then transfer to dog. :)

Oh, they're not dangerous, just that they are terriers! Inherently spunky, vivacious and tough. Just like JRTs, Westies, or Fox Terriers.
The problem with Pit Bulls is that everyone seems to forget the "terrier" part. Terriers are feisty, tenacious dogs.
