Here’s the thing about unprecedented situations: you trust your experts, you throw in with them, because god willing they are right. If they aren’t, accept it like adults. Things don’t always work out. We don’t crucify people who try in good faith. I don’t, anyway.

My step father was in the 82nd and served in Vietnam - he and his Army brothers would have found this appalling.

I was an Airman at Edwards AFB & lucky enough to see a few of those land… they are so big it’s like an abstract experience.

I’m a vet as well and feel this to my core. I can’t imagine active duty troops will be willing to participate in throwing people in detention camps in this, our country.. I just can’t.

It will be interesting to see how many members of the military will play ball if indeed there is an attempt to mobilize for this purpose. As a veteran myself, you’d have had to throw me the f*ck in jail.
