We spend more on roads because of lobbyists for the car industry. The post you replied also mentioned healthcare housing and jobs and guess what? Forcing cars on people makes doing all that harder too because we don't spend money on public transportation because "just get a car." Cars increase negative health outcomes and prevents people from being able to live off of their incomes because cars aren't free after you but them, you have to do gas and upkeep. Rail and Busses help that.

"trying the best we can" spends 31x on roads than you do on money. Something seems off. That trip also takes over 85 hours if you're lucky and don't get preempted by freight trains. suburbs build in ways that make walking to places to shop hard. You have to use a car because the bus only shows up every 4 hours and if you have a job that doesn't fit the bus schedule you can be spending multiple hours to get 5 miles away down a highway you can't walk on.

As we all know it's impossible to have any public transport in big cities with huge populations like Tokyo or New York. It's also impossible to connect the coasts with their similar population densities as Europe with like a intercontinental railway or something.

Elon musk has way more to spare than any crowd sourcing could make and he won't notice it's missing. Even if he has to pay 20 million each time he breaks the monument as he makes more than that a day. Donate to a food bank or something useful.

Sorry. How many times they will have to sue over Elon leveling the land before they can't sue anymore.

I wonder how long the monument will last before elon destroys it and they have to sue again.

Being far from roads supporting big equipment also is a problem. also there's not a lot of room between the trees to reach anything far from the clearing.

Cameras can bring in money. Fixing potholes costs money and doesn't earn anything. They could just leave the potholes and all the damage they cause to vehicles are now money that has to be spent on repairs meaning more tax money.

You have to pay for the id and it's around $40 the last time I did it and it took 3 hours. That's hard to do for many people that are forced to be at work during business hours which many DMV locations are only open during. Republicans also defund the DMV so that some are only open for a few hours one day a week or maybe only a few times a month. Bank accounts cost money to keep unless you have several thousand in the account and do so much money in transactions a month also.

The parish is trying to pass a law that says anyone listed as a mandated reporter, like janitors to police, will face punishment for not ejecting anyone that might be trans. If someone is asked to leave by one of these people, regardless of if they are trans or not, the must leave or face a year in jail. So because one of the victims was a nonbinary AFAB, they made the ordinance to make them able to be arrested had it been in effect.

In the commentaries it's revealed that francine's mom says nine weird because there was going to be a joke where francine was left at the boarding terminal for "France 9" When you add the weird pronunciation you get france ine. The joke didn't play well and we end up with that bit left in.

I think you're over turning it. The metal part stops the finger in the hole. The chosen hole will stop just before it.

There are 262,083,034 voting age people as of the last election. Generally people are talking about the percentage of voting age population because anyone under 18 doesn't have a choice in government representation and counting them with the voting population just makes it appear that there are more non-voting people than there are. Context is important, not being allowed to vote is different from being allowed to vote and not doing so.
