Yeah but what does NYT have to do with this? Its a Politico article.
What does that have to do with legacy media or the election?
Imgur is pretty leftest leaning. Its not an unusual take for a new unknown politician. More importantly you have to remember that he's an actual socialist in a country that doesn't much like Bernie Sanders and hates the word socialism. If you look outside your bubble you'll see anything that goes wrong will be blamed on socialism and will explode out of proportion. See his pick for FDNY Chief if you want to see evidence of that.
Doesn't matter. MAGA will still take it as gospel.
Scrooge McDuck
Nah, there's no MAGA hat, no Trump shirt, and he's not yelling at brown people.
That's not actually correct. Infant mortality is strictly defined as the ratio between the number of infants that are born and die before their first birthday against infants that are born. Killing an infant brings that number down. Trying to save every life and increasing lifespan brings that number up. As a side note a large portion of the increase in lifespan comes from reducing infant mortality.
65x less? That seems awfully pessimistic. I would believe 650x less.
I have an objection to how the social mobility bit is handled. It shouldn't be a relative number. It should just say what the number is. They're just hiding the fact that the odds suck in both cases, it just sucks less in Canada.
I would also like to point out that there's a version of this where a BBC reporter is standing in front of the soldier repeating the same thing verbatim and calling it "journalism".
Using a ChatGPT to create your argument really isn't the win you think it is. Half of that stuff is wrong. It isn't resource consolidation, they always had the resources. Above a certain point money just doesn't have any value or make any sense anymore. Its just a power play. If they lost 99% of their assets they would still be richer than any of us could dream, they would just lose power over others.
Depends on the job. The more you get paid and the more access to sensitive material the more likely they will. Your regular minimum wage job, no they won't. The last two places I worked at did a background check on me. One of them got hung up because the background check company had trouble verifying my school records and a former now non-existent employer.
Well no. That wasn't Google's doing and it isn't in the TOS. That was the US Justice system saying that if you do anything online its assumed to be public so a warrant isn't required. Because of bad reporting its more terrifying than you know. Here's specifically what they said "we must decide whether a person who conducts general, unprotected internet searches has an expectation of privacy We conclude that the average search engine user—including Kurtz—does not" AKA it applies to any search box
To some extent it does. I use it to avoid polluting history and suggestions on websites and to avoid being served ads for stuff I'm only tangentially interested in. For example I was looking up an unboxing video to figure out how to disassemble it. If I do it in a normal tab I'll get suggestions for the damn thing popping up all the time. In an incognito tab the search isn't connected with the rest of my data so I don't see stuff related to it.
Yeah, I want them to care about bias. Because you're the type of person I can easily manipulate since you came up with that all on your own because your missing third braincell would have told you that the other two are parrots.
No. people where bitching yesterday that AP had bias because they didn't cover an aspect of a world event they thought was important. I should have been clear that it was connected to another news story. I forget people's ability to connect ideas only lasts 2 or 3 posts. There AP didn't alter details. Those same people lack media literacy and should understand actual bias is subtly making changes to phrasing and not covering only the specific aspect of a world event they're interested in.
That's a false equivalence, and a laughably bad one. "Oh I ran into a doorway" is an outright lie. A half truth is leaving out details, not altering them. To use your analogy, your complaining that a *news article* about hiding a cell phone in an abusive relationship doesn't have enough coverage about the violence in an abuse relationship. The reason I'm highlighting *news article* is that it isn't intended as a full dissertation on the subject, only a short digestible section on an event.
People yelling about the AP's bias should take note. This is bias, deliberately misstating the facts to change the narrative and let the audience imply the guilty party rather than simply reporting facts.
A conspiracy or viable threats require some level of skill. As this administration demonstrates at least twice a week, they are completely incapable of viable threats against anyone with a modicum of power.
Explain how the article shows bias?
"I don't like that there's evidence contradicting my opinion so I'll call them an idiot instead"
Alright, so then we remove the suffering from the article so that they can talk about the blockade. And they'll you'll cry foul for them not mentioning the suffering. Or they add it in, the article is twice as long, and you don't bother reading.
So what you're saying is a *news* article that's the length of a book is totally fine? Because the story around Gaza, Israel, Palestine, and the US is long and complicated.
Its impressive, I have two posts with the AP in them back to back. One from someone claiming the AP doesn't report on the blockade. Another saying fuck Israel because of an AP article about the blockade. Way to go Imgurians for promoting fake outrake
Because this is just one many articles. AP has an article literally titled "Israel says it will halt operations of several humanitarian organizations"Before you have fake outrage verify the information.
You mean this AP? The one that's literally writing about Israel blocking aid? Maybe there are multiple stories and the AP understands that Twitter was the downfall of media literacy because people won't read more than two sentences?
Well yeah. Creating and running an LLM takes a hell of a lot of smarts, skill, and some basic logic skills. None of which Trumpians possess. So they can't create they're own sycophant AI, they have to license a normal one like ChatGPT.
The state with the highest taxes on lotto winnings is Hawaii at 11%. I didn't forget it, I just didn't include it because I knew you dipshits would try and weasel out of the nonsense your spouting and I would be forced to go through each state 1 by 1.
I remember hearing the same thing 2 years ago, yet here we are.
