An hpfp is $750 for "BMW", $300 for OE. I've never heard of rod bearings going bad on N54s, the rest is preventative maintenance.
They aren't likely to break. As a (former) owner of one and mechanic, it's a solid car.
135i is much better. I had one running low 4s for 0-60. It was a fantastic speed machine.
