Who is Mike Greenwell, and why was he robbed? Mike "Gator" Greenwell played for the Boston Red Sox from '85-'96. He was my hero growing up following the 80s and 90s Red Sox. In 1988 he was ranked 2nd in AL MVP voting, losing to Jose Canseco who we would later find out was a cheating bastard the whole time.
