So from my understanding; if we extract all these metals and bring them to earth it would increase the planet's weight. Are we not in a delicate balance between the sun and the moon? If we increase our weight would we not drag the moon into us? Or change our rotation around the sun / increase the temperature?
Even wearing a condom isn't 100% I've had one tear, and I've had to go fishing for one. So I think his statement has more to do with him trying to "lessen the blow" for when he comes out.
This is how language and dialects "evolve" how else are we going to reach the stars and become Beltalowdas?

To quote the article: "Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, joking that “it struck me that my gift of maple syrup kind of undermatched” the Turkish present, said he had not actually seen the pistol.“I would like to reassure Canadians – they keep guns away from me,” he told a press conference, saying the revolver had been deactivated and might end up in the national war museum."
I used to not like Jello, had a medical thing where I didn't eat for 4ish days and the first thing I got served at the hospital was purple Jello. I never knew Jello could taste so good or had that much flavour.
I understand this would have fetched a pretty penny today via "collectors" however given the option I'd be more interested in how much the scrapyard would pay for the metal.

1/2 I had a very weird exchange about a year ago with a clinic; in QC we make our appointments through a government website call Clic Sante. When making an appointment you have public or private options, I needed a blood test as part of my annual physical and opted to go public at a nearby clinic I've never been to before. That is correct, it was my favourite one in the series. I've read the first 5 of the Imager Portfolio, as well as 4 from the Corean Chronicles and probably half of the Saga of Recluce. Colors of Chaos was my first introduction to L.E. Modesitt Jr. I found I read too many of his books too fast and his writing style became predictable to me and they lost their charm after that.
