Unlike politics, this is where a true middle grounds shines. AI (and I use that term loosely to refer to the limited/faulty version we currently have) replacement of human intellect is a dangerous mistake. Outright rejection of it isn't much better. Given time it will eventually settle as yet another expensive but useful tool in the appropriate areas. It will fade away where it's just a fad. All new tech goes through a "use it for everything!" fad phase.
Honestly, not bad! Just... don't ask about my left shoulder or neck.
It hangs on as a combination of two things. 1) Conspiracy theories where it makes the uneducated feel powerful and in control because they know about some secret that "they" don't want you to know about. In this case, blockchain as a replacement for banks and standard data storage. They feel smarter than the typical bank and data people. 2) Standard Get Rich Quick schemes. If they can just find the right NFT at the right time, they can be immediately rich and it will fix all their problems.
The art itself wasn't the point and overall didn't even matter. That was a facade. The token pointing to the art, and how that token was distributed, was the tech. The money laundering was the use.
It was a tech demo that got hijacked into a money laundering scheme. The tech is interesting, but it's a solution waiting for a problem and has too many issues in this early form. The pictures themselves were just the paint to hide the actual mechanism. No one (ok, maybe one or two people) actually cared about the pictures.
I don't know about bananas, but chocolate (nestle) is....

I'm familiar with wildlife crossings. They're also quite large, expensive, and rare.
I have a rule. If there's a complex problem that hasn't been solved by many people over many years..... your 1 sentence solution that you thought of in 1 minute is PROBABLY missing some crucial details.
Sounds horrendously expensive to both build and maintain in a way that is actually usable by both.
Food ranking is probably the simplest and least egregious piece of data in those pages. That one is nothing more than ordering items by count. More importantly are location+day+time+frequency. And if you go to a mcdonalds somewhere else, they know you travelled. They can also track if small adjustments in price have any effect on spending (oh look, we can increase prices by $0.03 and nothing bad happens!"

Well this gives me a fun idea for an art project that I'm not capable of creating. One of those multi-layer pictures that appears to move as you look at it from different angles : do that for the water so it appears to flow as you walk past it. Then paint the static landscape + trees on top of that.
A little oversimplified. It solves a lot of problems : lying officers, resolving conflicting stories, accurate recollection of stressful events (human memory is terrible and overwrites itself with every recall. Stressful events are worse. Traumatic events are worse yet again. You can't trust memory), proof to outside sources (news, other departments, etc), and peace of mind.
I like this idea. This may warrant a trip to Lowes.

As much as I hate the man and want to see him crash-and-burn.... designing, building, financing, promoting, and using rockets are ENTIRELY different skillsets with little to no overlap.
You are still missing the point. It's not about gatekeeping a definition. You seem dead set on that conclusion.
You are pulling another logical trick. Taking a single counter-example and using it as a sole criteria for proof. Stop doing that. It was a counter-example to show that your "protected speech" comparison is also not absolute. That is all. Now taking a step back, this comes down to one very simple question : "What is the intention of the person?" Is their intention that they actually believe they are a trans-woman? Or is their intention to use it as a grifting costume?
They already DO and for good reasons.... The classic example is shouting "fire" in an airplane or movie theater. That is "speech" that is not "protected" and will get you thrown in jail.This is also STILL not a case of gatekeeping or preventing people from identifying how they wish. That carries the strong implication that your definitions and usages are absolutely correct. THAT is what people are disagreeing with. That you are misusing them.
No, it's been unacceptable to use “what’s stopping me from faking I’m a woman to use a bathroom or win at sports.” as a thought-terminating statement to reduce people's rights. HUGE difference. It's also not just the "doing it for money" that's unacceptable. Re-watch the video. Actually listen to what's said. They gave MULTIPLE reasons why it's unacceptable based on the way and reason it's done.
Not sure if you're being a troll or just don't understand the video. Did you miss the part where it's a cis-woman wearing a fake dick in public while making videos of herself pretending to be a trans-woman as part of a business?
Of course I enjoy staying busy. But I would must rather stay busy programming my DCC inspired game than programming an eCommerce site.
It feels like I didn't become a proper midwesterner until my mid 30s. Now have a back shed full of The Things, which I stubbornly built myself instead of paying someone more qualified to build.
