I've been here! It's really beautiful, as many of the ruined castles in the UK are. You can really feel the history. Really recommend if you're in the area.

Agreed! Everything feels so strained at Christmas. Family relationships get pushed to the limit in various, often unexpected, ways. People do show love quite differently and that can lead to harsh fallouts.
