It's possible it was a server error but that user also commented on my statement and immediately was unfindable. Seems like their genius tactic to look definitive in their statements

If the boat is the entire religion that suggests some people don't think Christianity is real. That's a bad read on the analogy. We know religions exists they just sometimes believe in sky daddies that aren't actually real

Bruv if you want to claim to be wiser than David Hume in the area of epistemology go for it. Tells me how seriously I ever have to take your opinion

You don't believe we can use genetic research to do an analysis for when two different species split from some larger group and use that to date their different separations from said group?

4 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You probably believe that tomorrow will resemble today and that's built on magical thinking.

Explain to me why you think theism and religion are synonyms or what you think you are saying if not that.

problem of induction shows that the very principles of science are built on a belief we hold without having ever proven or tested it. there is no causal link between the future and the past. there is only an apparent one that no one can ever test

8 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

that's the literal opposite of the problem. science is a religion built on a flawed belief system that you think is so true you've never questioned your belief in it. like pretending you know what gravity is just because you saw an apple fall and hit someone on the head

this is a bunch of shit. we absolutely can test hypothesis within evolution and we can observe things in the lab. We can observe genetic drift and mutation in the lab and then use those bench marks to compare various genetic sequences among animals at large and find relations and connections and even correlate the genetic drift components against fossil records to do comparisons on what we believe the timeline looks like. the problem of induction is nothing like the bs science of anti-evolution

carcinization sneaks in when you least expect it!

the scientific method is built upon the delusion that the past will stand as evidence of what the future will be like. that has never, not once, been independently verified. Everyone that believes science just accepts that delusion as true and refuses to even challenge it. Bunch of hypocrites.

Oh yeah conflating atheism and agnosticism and forgetting that there are religious beliefs that don't have a god but are still religions is all very reasonable and logical. /s

12 hours ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 43

Not really. The analogy tries to suggest that if no belief in god then no religion except there are many religions around the globe with no god. It's only a good analogy with people who are dumb enough to think that Judaism Christianity and Islam are the only religions in the world.

Not all religions require you to believe a boat exists and those are still religions. The premise of this analogy is flawed

where does it end man? since the EPA enacts, in the normal times, clean air and water legislation do they charge anyone who breathes it with property taxes? do they make it illegal to not breathe air you bring from home or do they just make you file for a breathing on the go license?

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary relief from litter, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety!

the republican party is fine with all of those points as long as they guarantee that none of them queers or colored folk can get those things. That's what made the rank and file republican turn their backs on the working class and start blowing the rich assholes who take everything for themselves. They're hoping that they can funnel the trickle being promised by the rich towards only themselves instead of realizing the trickle is a lie.

so many people seem to expect this kind of loyalty from their employees with the idea that eventually the hard work is rewarded and good employees reap better rewards but so often the companies never follow through with the second half. I've been at my job for over 15 years and in my friend group the people who worked the same company all these years aren't any better off than the friends that for one reason or another bounced around a lot in jobs. We need more bosses like her.

that was operation "we fucked up" now we're in operation "check this out" totally different police actions. resets the 60 day timer each time. This way america can lose one "war" every couple months instead of just losing one long drawn out pathetic defeat!

we can skip the boots to avoid accidentally giving the left a good talking point. in fact I think that's better. let's send all of ICE and skip their equipment. just a bunch of losers dumped naked in the desert.
