If that part of your brain that tells you to keep doing drugs is something you can’t control or fix then what are you even doing?! You just going to give up?! I’ve tried lots of drugs in my life. But never did I feel like I need it to fix my sorrows or feel the need to do the continuously. So if that’s just your genetics then outside help is the only way. But only YOU can do it. And if you don’t truly want it you’ll never succeed .
Yep. You want people to understand and feel bad?! And to have compassion? Please, the only one who can do anything is yourself. And if you want to whine and complain that no one wants to help or you can’t help yourself. That’s on you. If you want to drown yourself then go ahead but don’t sacrifice others for your selfish ways. If your not gunna try and get help then that’s on you and no one’s going to feel sorry for you. Take fucking accountability for once in your life.
Why should I? My brother molested me as a child and beat me everyday. Did he care about hurting me? And like him I could’ve chosen drugs to cope with the pain but I didn’t. At 16 and alone I chose to get help and go to therapy instead. I can’t feel bad for people who hurt others to fuel their addiction. It was THEIR choice. One that never affects just them. There’s so much help out there and if a 16 year old girl on her own can find it, so can you. And I hope that they do.
Never said it was a moral failing. Just the truth. You can’t help someone who won’t help themselves. It isn’t compassion I lack, I had lots of compassion for the people who my brother hurt and stole everything from in order to fuel his drug addiction. Do you think he had compassion for them?
Addicts won’t change when getting high is easier than the withdrawal. If will power wasn’t enough to prevent the destructive drug use in the first place, then there won’t be any trying to get off of them either. It’s a lot of hard work and sadly most of them can’t do it. You are the drug now…
