You can joke all you want, but those things do contribute to a lower spending on movies/music/games etc.
But including the free admissions and discounts lowers the average cost. And streaming has lowered the number of people who go to theaters.
Ads are free still. And theaters will give away tickets for special events or offer discounts. I wasn't counting gifts.
There are also plenty of circumstances in which it's obtained for free legally.
