Good stuff. Though, as we are seeing again with the BBB, the GOP has figured out putting time delays into their terrible ideas. Like leaving a time bomb in your office when you know you're getting replaced.
Biden and Obama are going to be the next two because both of them came into office during crises and inflation exists. In adjusted dollars, Reagan is up there with Trump. Also, POTUS isn't king. Congress sets the budget and since Reagan one side slashes taxes on the rich while trimming programs and the other funds programs without fixing taxes. That arrangement can really only go in one direction and it isn't a good one.
Umm, sorry to interrupt the daily hate, but food processor consolidation is a real issue and the restrictions on farmers/ranchers processing their own animals are onerous. This post, that clearly was not written by Trump ("powerful monopoly", rhetorical question, lack of insults, and use of commas), is fairly on point. None of this undermines food safety/inspection as the title suggests. If you would like to know more about problems in our food system, I suggest reading/watching Joel Salatin.
We built up so many wonderful things over years, decades, centuries and are throwing it away because 22% of the country is too fucking stupid to remember 4 years ago.
Skynet is not going to become sentient and decide to kill all humans. Tech bros will hard code Skynet to engage in a drastic workforce reduction strategy when all their dumbass half baked ideas collapse the economy then society.
I extra like that every single TV at most places has "Smart" listed. If they're all smart it doesn't mean anything, dipshits. Would they write "IT DISPLAYS IMAGES!!!" on every single one? No? Well then they're not a complete lost cause.
Finally, someone who understands negotiation.
Create a meme about it being a game. The first camera is worth 100 points. The next camera within an hour is worth double points and the next. The streak extends as long as you're getting at least one an hour. Spread the meme far and wide.
How is that boomer? This seems like an intentional effort to make a very reasonable position sound absurd.
Evil is ultimately self defeating, but it's a real bitch to have to sit through the process.
Yes, let us compromise. Starting offer on our side: every single flock camera in the world is taken down and each and everyone one of them is shoved up Garrett Langley, and his business partners's, ass. Every. Single. One. Let the negotiations begin!
That would probably be a highly effective campaign- get on Truth social and start posting anti-Trump memes that include the text "made using a data center". Once you put that link in his dementia laden pedophile mind it's over for data centers.
Yes, because statistical analysis has shown that big names =/= big movie, box office. When asked about this, a studio exec said something along the lines of "I don't want nobodies at my parties". Hollywood ran with this and has never looked back.
Historically, that is an option. It's so weird that people will support killing people from the wrong geographic area or for committing far lesser crimes, but you start talking about the big, big crimes and they get uncomfortable.
It's not quite up there with curing cancer, but it certainly answers that particular GQP yelling point.
I'm sitting here trying to fathom the lack of historical and current events knowledge required for this comment to make any kind of sense. Not be a good point, just be considered intelligible. We're well into anti-knowledge territory.
I have so many questions... how did kangaroos beat chimpanzees? who is losing to a house cat?! have these people seen a lion, elephant, grizzly bear, gorilla, wolf, crocodile?!?! Did you know that guy punching the kangaroo is a zoo keeper?
Like that poor woman on Oprah. Haunting.
Vague question. Is this a one serve only scenario? If so, zero chance. One set = infinitesimal chance. Limitless matches = eventually she's going to double fault.
Morgan Freeman: As fate would have it, they did not learn.
That's a lot of blue dots to be a tiny number.
You can tell a lot about a person by when they say "that's enough money for me, I'm going to focus my energy on charity/gardening/reading books/jerkin' it, or whatever". At 8 figures you have to start questioning their decency. By 9 they are definitely an asshole. At 10 (and above), in a world where poverty exists, you're a monster.
In this administrations defense, these people all became billionaires who also control the White House using these bush league tactics. Don't get me wrong, they're pieces of shit, but it's easy to see how they expect this to work. Been working great so far! Which is a sad, sad, so fucking sad commentary on our trash society.
Yes. In the 90s someone had the brilliant idea to lie about inflation (read the Boskin commission- this wasn't a secret) to keep COLA down. This amounted to a ~1% invisible upward wealth transfer per year. 1% doesn't sound like much until you do it for several decades. That constant economic pressure forces companies to find new ways to increase profits/reduce costs (ex: shrinkflation), breaks markets (ex: housing), and is difficult to fix- knowing is half the battle.
Nepal has been sitting on plans for dams for 60 odd years. Instead of building them to mitigate flooding and harvest limitless energy, they keep delaying and coming up with bigger and more dubious projects. Meanwhile, the energy side of the equation is becoming less financially viable as other tech improves. People.
CPI claims $1 in 2005 is $1.75 in 2026. Ask anyone who has been paying attention and they'll say that's bullshit as it's well over $2 in 2026. They will be correct. In the 90s the owners had the great idea to rework (read: lie about) inflation to keep COLA down, and, incidentally, their profits up. 2% doesn't sound like much until you do it for decades, then you run into an affordability crisis with no easy solution.
