It's easy to stand against a single individual who's toxic masculinity is on full display. it's tough when you realize you're alone in a room full of them at varying degrees and they're normalizing and enabling each other. I came to a breaking point and had to unload an entire friend group because I knew that just because they were nice to me didn't make them good people.
I did some wire transfer for him a few years ago, nice man very friendly, no ego whatsoever!

Yeah I was a part of that group for a couple of years and it's a group for closet conservatives. On paper it's a good org with a simple mission: raise money while getting hammered. Issue is, it's: deliberately non-diverse, women are rarely in any leadership roles, there are serious concerns over alcohol consumption at every event, and frankly the interactions are very shallow. Of the 2 ish years I went to events and house parties I have zero friends that I kept from that time.

Back in high school we had a metal shop where you could be supervised to use The crucible and welding equipment. Most kids were making shit like this. My buddy Billy made a skateboard out of solid aluminum (from cans).
Okay I understand that it is a problem. I understand how little it takes to actually kill someone. I understand that pretty much everyone has it. The thing I don't understand is where the fuck are they getting this shit from?! Who is manufacturing this shit and why is it being produced!?

As someone who started from square one 2 years ago, find a hobby you enjoy that links to a community that encourages real face to face interaction. It genuinely helps. No shit posting on imgur doesn't count, no matter how good your movie or book lists are.

One of the best suggestions my head chef ever made was take whatever the recipe asks for in vinegar and split it 50/50 between white wine vinegar and lemon juice. It makes a difference!
