Heya. Not sure what to put in here... I'm a 30+ year old woman, who lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and pets. They include a cat, dog, snake, and several hermit crabs. I'll post pictures of my knitting and other creative projects, my pets, or whatever else I think might be interesting.

From what I remember hearing, women who died in childbirth got counted as dying in battle. And there were a lot of female Norse warriors, just modern times like to think we're more 'progressive', so obviously there must be less female warriors then we have now, right?

It depends on how much cash-gatekeeping annoys you. If you bought EVERY cash shop story at not a discounted price, I think it was... about $2k IIRC, last time I mathed it up. And some of the stories are decades old. So there IS a lot to go through for F2P players, but there's a LOT of grind, there's LE items that are Best in Slot that you just... can't get anymore, etc. So if the cash shop stuff turns you off, no. If you can ignore that, the story is pretty fascinating.

My mom had a copy of the Baby Elephant Folio edition. When she died, it was one of the main things I asked for! I loved flipping through it as a child, and was super careful. The cover is a bit torn now, but the rest is still awesome.

Huh, makes me wonder if the links are even for the actual store at this point, or just a stolen video linking to a completely different product. Because if you look at the Etsy store for the item (OrangeYewCurios) it's not like they're not hurting for purchases.

I have a few 'jacket' earrings like this (not chickens though) and they're pretty nifty.

I know this shop from Etsy, myself. But yeah, still an ad.

Etsy. It has a few shops that sell things like this. They're called 'jacket' or 'front and back' earrings. If you search for 'chicken jacket earrings' these show up as the third link for me (I do have other earrings from this store favorited though)

I say this as a writer: thank FUCK I'm not interested in writing dystopian fiction because holy shit is it getting hard to beat non-fiction at this point.

As a 40+ woman, fluffy animal bootie/socks/slippers. I will never get tired of having paws for feet, or sharks eating my ankles, or wearing moose around the house.

There's a book for that. I'm serious. I've read it. It's... well, if you're a fan of the movie, you still might not like it. If you like reading books that make you have to wonder if you somehow got dosed by the pages and are now tripping while reading, you'd probably like this book. It also deals with insults, pooping and sex in the way a 12 year old might. A well spoken 12 year old, but still. If you've read John Dies at the End and felt that you wanted to be more disconnected, you'd like it.

If you can move, I'd say move. Western Washington and Oregon are decent places to be, with a bunch of people being openly trans, and really nice laws. My wife started her transition about a year and a half ago, and she's okay with wearing obvious markers. We'll probably become our own country or get absorbed into Canada if worse comes to worse. But there's no shame in moving away, either... just finding a country that will take you is work. Good luck on whatever you decide!

Specific titles? Like what, Elden Ring, Dark Souls, the Yakuza series, Dave the Diver, Stardew Valley, Balatro, Palworld, Deep Rock Galactic, Satisfactory, Cult of the Lamb, and about 99% of the rest of my Steam Library...

Well, if you weren't considered IT before, you probably are now, lol. And I followed your FA account, you have a nice artstyle.

No, you got it. Sometimes parents decide to have kids specifically to harvest bits to save the older kids life. It's a thing. And yeah, sometimes the kids being born for donation don't get treated well (gee, wonder who is going to be the golden child here), or they find out as adults because they DO find a donor or whatever, and it... doesn't turn out well. Glad she's okay with it.

Yep. Read plenty of WWII history books; if you're going to leave, plan NOW, and try to frontload and do as much as possible before they make it so you can't. Waiting until it gets worse is going to limit options even more. And people need to make a plan B and C when things get cut off early or hit snags you can't deal with. Plan for the fact you might have to live illegally somewhere. Don't be caught on the last train, not without a fight. It's going to suck, but you can try to plan.

there AT ALL if you're autistic, and other countries have other restrictions. America actually had one of the BEST policies for immigrants, and still, sadly, kind of does.

Which doesn't mean you can't move, but you need to start doing heavy research and getting your passport and everything NOW, since often the process ITSELF can take up to 2 years, and that's without a huge influx bottlenecking the system.

You can stay and resist too, doing the best you can, but I don't blame trying to run.

As someone who has been researching various countries to move to since February LAST year (being autistic/disabled, and a cisfemale married to a trans woman), Canada (and most other countries) likely won't bother with refugee status YET, and most likely until it's too late (it's very common) and even then, will limit the number of people. Most countries won't let you move to them unless you will be employed/provide jobs, and not be a drain on THEIR finances. Australia won't let you move 1/?
