Nurses don't generally make jokes on public social media about people's colonoscopies, either. Hospice workers make jokes in private and go home feeling good about what they did that day. They don't generally do what that woman's doing. There's a basic line around privacy and professionalism.
Right, basic respect and decorum isn't just for wimps. Making a joke out of it publicly on social media is generally frowned upon in the field.

Religion was never "all for science and logic" at any point in human history and while plenty of people are stupid, it's fewer people than it's been historically.

People really do act like they're opposed to inhumane prison conditions until they find out prisons are largely populated with criminals.
Filming people in public is generally legal. It's basically half of Imgur uploads, after all. But even if you wanted it to be illegal, people do it all the time with their phones. If anything, the indicator light makes the glasses camera more conspicuous. Don't get me wrong, I would only buy these if the camera was detachable and more visible than this, but there's no call to make the devices themselves illegal.

That's not true. People in solitary frequently don't get books.
It's a nice idea, and they're not actually making things much worse since you can already surreptitiously film people in public. But the light can only do so much to alert people even when it isn't disabled.
That's not big enough market for them to be profitable. Meta desperately needs them to be cool so a significant number of people will buy them.
I get white people don't like them but I don't see any reason why they'd be illegal.
