A sentient bag of meat and fluids.
I'm worried the R attorney general will be elected which'll complicate things.
Our Lidls have begun kind of sucking, tbh. They used to have way more German/made in Germany or the EU stuff & have begun pivoting to way more US brands (and this was before the tariffs - now it's accelerated).
I'm in northern Virginia (USA) and have 3 Lidl and 2 Aldi within 15 minute drives (because that's apparently how we measure things here). Oh, and another HUGE Lidl's about to open where a 2nd and Charles (book/music/comics store associated with Barnes & Noble) closed down.
"And, and, and, access to healthcare is controlled by companies and these companies all work with another company called Evicore to deny care to people...""Oh, COME ON! It's literally one letter away from being 'EVILCORE'!"
It would seem so (from the comments, I haven't clicked through).
I mean, that's fair. I don't mind/appreciate these posts, but make some room for the people who just want to giggle, see interesting science facts, or whatever. Hell, even some people in the US would like (or need) a breather from it all for their own mental health.
I was streaming Deutschlandfunk Kultur yesterday while doing some chores but only marginally understand spoken German unless I really lock in and listen. Anyway, I'm a little bit sure they (rightfully) threw some serious shade by playing this ( History Repeating https://share.google/EX45gX4M8E5YVljdB can't embed links, boo) right after a news blurb involving Trump.
IN ONE CORNAH WE HAVE THE 80s GUY FROM FUTURAMA! AND IN DA UDDAH CORNAH WE HAVE BIFF TANNEN BUT SOMEHOW WOISE FROM BACK TO DAH FUTURE!*rings bell*FIGHT!
I mean, he's an artist! A vegetarian! He loves dogs! He can't be that bad a guy! /s
It was apparently re-uploaded. fwiw, it looks like it was re-uploaded with some names/locations/details of one of the victims blurred (when they hadn't been), likely to protect her s bit more.
If nothing else, at least we got to show the world what a bad idea electing them would be. https://media4.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1N2J1NDliNGk2eTh0Z2UwbDN3a2Rwd3pubGh2dXczMG0xOWo3d3JwNiZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/lYXH80ounrmaNIP4VL/200w.webp
"Woohoo! This guy believes that voting should happen!!!" *pumps fists in air*That's us.
#42 Out youngest will be 18 the year I hit 50. Feral 50s, baybee.
Meanwhile Virginia's SweaterVestMAGA Governor has pledged troops, a bold stance given how extremely purple the state is. It's doing a little bit extra to throw Earle-Sears under the bus. (Good.)
²don't like that the Nazis steamrolled them in WWII? The Nazis did that to a lot of countries, but they formed a *resistance*. They couldn't defeat the Nazi war machine in one go, but they sabotaged, killed, and stopped them whenever they could, and many were murdered as a result. France not doing what you want when you want doesn't make them cowards." That's not said to brag about what I said at all, but to say that there are many here who - if they know any history at all - will say the same.²
fwiw, an anecdote: Back when idiots in the US were like, "Hurr durr FREEDOM FRIES!!!" I was in a class & someone (who was a jackass in general) made a crack about the French. My response, summarized (b/c it's been a while): "You mean the country that made it so the US actually won the Revolutionary War? That one? The one that dragged out the guillotines on their own oppressors? Or - not to say he was a great guy, but - the one that took over most of western Europe under Napoleon? What, you ¹
I never *felt* that big, but one time I was standing at parade rest waiting for bunk inspection during BCT, shoulders back, all locked in, etc. When my drill sergeant got to me, she looked me up and down and said, "Put those things away, {last name}," and continued on.tbf, I'd usu layer a bra + two sports bras to keep things from getting ridiculous while running, so I should've known.
Slight amendment
Oh, we know which part is the front. It's the part without a hook-and-loop clasp system that's 8 units long and at least 3 deep.
And it's been like that. When I was in the Army/directly after (late 90s/early 2000s), I had really short hair (on the boy cut side of pixie) b/c it was easier. And bruuuuh the people who would say shit *just b/c of that* was unreal. Don't get me wrong - I'm broad-shouldered & was well-muscled, but I also had a 32G bust (usu cheated 34DD or 36D b/c special ordering bras = awful), a slim waist, and *hips*. Just the frikkin' hair, dressing comfortably, & not wearing much make-up set them off.
I'm just beginning to look into it, tbh, but Graphene seems like the measure to beat on the Android side.
I'm from the US.) If I cross our border for any reason, I'm leaving my phone at home and bringing a burner. If things get much further along, I'm nuking stock Android and installing Graphene (mostly for the duress PIN feature).
And doomed to be called alarmists when we're like
I didn't think of it in these terms when I first watched it, but upon rewatching Garak comes across like he probably put the PAN in pansexual (as long as a given entity was interesting).
I (from the US) lived in a little town outside of Stuttgart for a while. One day while going for a walk in an adjoining town on my way to a hiking trail (as you do - gawds, I miss Germany) and saw a house FLYING A FRIKKIN CONFEDERATE FLAG. Later, my neighbor explained to me that that's a thing people do to get around the anti-N laws. (fwiw, Belgium - had way more Yahtzee/hate speech graffiti than at least the parts of Germany that I saw. My eldest started carrying a sharpie to modify it.)
I went to go find it right after replying but can't remember her name :(
He still hasn't gotten over Donald Grump. https://youtu.be/-_r6iojNnYg?si=t82OaMdmzBr7au9r
Yep, this same creator has a bit about just that.
