Keto as I understand it is meant to have you burning fat instead of sugar by cutting back on sugar and carbs which turn into sugar.

To work, but I hear the opposite. I used the calculator and it said 1500 cals and 25g carbs. How strict is that? I used all keto recipes...

Try using a different calculator, e.g., Cronometer, which shows "net carbs" and not total carbs. Basically it is meat with low carb veggies
