#5 she's questioning her whole existence

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#14 thats exactly why NOTHING in the WH40k universe works. The moment you look at the numbers, its unfeasable.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't tell that to the Orks

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its ok, Orkz cant read or understand numbers. Proof, theyre doing perfectly fine as it is, compared to like... EVERYONE else except maybe the fish'eads

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#14 Not foolproof. After the first Ringworld novel came out, MIT students did the necessary math to show that the eponymous Ringworld would be dynamically unstable without orbital correction thrusters, and that ultimately comes down to its *shape*. (If you want to be more impressed, this was in the 1970s.)

#16 The one time where an MRI is actually less hideous than the photo

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never use prices in dollars etc. Use a comparison. "Cost as much as a new car." "Worth as much as my rent.

3 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Unless a numerical value is integral to the plot. "6 Million Dollar Man"

#7 good bones means no walls just the frame.

3 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

My dad sold his house that was literally washing into the creek and the back wall was pulling off and sliding down the hill and his realtor agent advertised it as having "good bones". It was ridiculous.

3 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or there are actual bones.

#27 There'd be a theme song that would explain the origins of Surf Dracula while showing the opening credits. Efficiency.

3 months ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Been rewatching a shows from the late 2000s, White Collar, Psych, Burn Notice, Lie to Me, they hit so much better than slow streaming yawn

#26 Lords, Ladies & Sovereigns is a recent discovery I quite like.

3 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

My go to is "Cuties and cutthroats." Non-gendered, and you get to decide which group you belong to, or both if you want, I don't care.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've heard Lords, Ladies, and Gentlethems.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've been a fan of "gentlebeings" for a while now.

(1) #14 Douglas Adams knew this. "The aircar rocketed them at speeds in excess of R17 through the steel tunnels that led out on to the appalling surface of the planet..."

3 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

(2) "R is a velocity measure, defined as a reasonable speed of travel that is consistent with health, mental well-being and not being more than, say, five minutes late. It is therefore clearly an almost infinitely variable figure according to circumstances, since the first two factors vary not only with speed taken as an absolute, but also with awareness of the third factor. "

(3) "Unless handled with tranquillity this equation can result in considerable stress, ulcers and even death.

R17 is not a fixed velocity, but it is clearly far too fast."
