You got conned
rbudrick
Pretty sure you got ripped off. Like really, really ripped off.
MattDude
PREMIUM AIR!? ........ Premium -- Air?
quietwalker
Oil change would be that much if you opted for full synthetic.
b00guy
I'd have gotten the bulbs fixed, and the oil changed, the rest of it can piss off.
Skawomplious
So, you wanna buy a bridge? It's on sale.
Alurkerforcedtologin
You didn't pay extra for the premium blinker fluid did you?
IMPICKLERICK
No, im not an idiot, I did get the premium air tho for my winter tires
Alurkerforcedtologin
That's good. The premium air really helps in the winter, but it's just overkill in the summer. I make sure to have the shop flush the air every 6 months, and change the tire air filters every year whether they look like they need it or not. Maintenance is important.
mephiston
wow you REALLY got fucked with labour costs there.
TonawandaBlue
You let them change the blinker fluid, didn't you?
Curli187
Did you at least get the premium air?
ispendtomuchtimehere
happens to me all the time
dynamojoe
Headlights are freaking expensive nowadays. Everything's an expensive, sealed custom unit instead of a new bulb that might be hard to get to. Even so, that's a high number. Did they find other issues during their "free multi-point inspection" and guiltscare you into something?
InablueMule
Thought 150$ was bad for my Buick. What kind of car?
IgnisInvictus
What the hell do you drive that requires the removal of the font bumper and fender to change out a bulb?!
I swear if I ever go car shopping serviceability is my highest priority.

2014 ford fusion energi
IgnisInvictus
Yeah I'm pretty sure you got conned. It should not have taken 3+ hours to replace that headlight even if it is in a stupid location and there's a bunch of crud in the way. I can't find standard service time without digging a whole lot more. Doesn't matter. Shouldn't have taken 3+ hours.
IMPICKLERICK
I think it was both of the daytime running lights that did it because that required removal of both assemblies bumper etc. But yeah... I miss the days where you go to Autozone, you buy a $3.50 bulb, and you replace it yourself in 30 minutes

What make and model of car? Some of them are notorious for high labor costs. Worth looking up when shopping.
IMPICKLERICK
2014 Ford Fusion Energi.
Bought it brand new with 3 miles on it in 2013 so it's lived a good life =(
spooktree
rick, i hope you're bullshitting us
IMPICKLERICK
The oil change yeah, that's from a funny video.
The total cost, no. So headlight was out, also my daytime running lights were out but I never noticed. They were out not because vad bulb, but wiring issues. Fixed wiring issues, which fixed some sensors, check engine light came on. Check engine light was on because of a "leak in my emission control system" so that also had to get fixed.
RetrogradeLlama
You could post the invoice., but that sounds like some serious fraud.
IMPICKLERICK
Put a brief rundown in my post description
RetrogradeLlama
Those prices are outrageous. Their labor rate is ridiculous.
But the worst is that they spent $600 on replacing your bulbs and it wasn't the problem, so they charged you another $500 to actually fix the problem.
IMPICKLERICK
But I got to keep the bulbs https://media0.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPWE1NzM3M2U1YXRqbjZ2ajlxdXhsOGVkODllcHBpOHdiaWt0cGtvbXZqNjk5OXVqNSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/1woB49oC1UibZc5qbF/200w.webp
