I guess I’m one of the weird ones then. I’ve been hoping for successful autonomous automobiles to be a mainstream thing my whole adult life. The daily carnage on the road from shitty human drivers is something we should have fixed years ago.
In a perfect world this kind of thing could work, or with a few decades more refinement. I think the realistic solution right now is still public transport and better pedestrian and bike corridors. Just make it easier for people to not immediately jump in a car for everything.
