DARE officers that came to my school told my class of 3rd grader 8YOs that teenage gangs in our tiny hick town were waiting behind every corner to kidnap us and force us to take drugs to turn us into addicts. I guess it worked for a year or two before we realized they were lying and then never trusted anything they said ever again.
