Cheaper than swords, though! KoA has a bunch of at least decent ones priced from $41 to $274 (personally, in this case, I'd go for Cold Steel over Deepeeka or the other brands) https://www.kultofathena.com/product-category/weapons/halberds/
And of course, as usual with low end functional reproductions, if you have some basic tools (e.g. a mill file and a round file) and are willing to learn some simple DIY, you can improve them _significantly_ with a couple of hours of work.

Uh...none of these look "battle-ready". They don't have enough mounting space to properly match real ones...also, half of those aren't even halberds, but bills, voulges, and lochabers. I've looked at Kult of Athena in the past, and nothing ever looked properly impressive to me.

Many of them are reasonable reproductions of museum pieces with just as little mounting space, like that "German Halberd Head" from GDFB with the nice long langets and enough blade material to grind/file/drill the overall shape to your particular taste, as long as you like that Swiss style of halberd in general. (But by the same token, it is little more than a blank and _requires_ some DIY, though.)
But yeah, if none of them strike your fancy, fair enough! Just saying, there's stuff out there.

Not really a heroic name, but a fitting weapon for its owner. Of course if you're going up against a giant spider with a small sword, you might do better to name it "Sting"...

Nuth just stole trinkets from the idle rich and used his apprentice as a tripwire the one time he attempted a dangerous epic burglary, which failed and got his apprentice killed in ways too horrible to put in writing. Thangobrind snuck across several cities worth of dangerous traps, infiltrated a spider cult, went one-on-one with a giant spider, and by all accounts put up a vicious fight before being overwhelmed.

#1 and #2 are different swords. There are barbs in the crossguard's curls in the first one that aren't in the second. The spines in the blade are different; color changes are possible in the same piece, but these are visibly in different spots and lengths. The riveting pattern is different.

I think it's the same sword, just shot from different sides at different angles and at different points in time, and with the small details distorted by photo and compression artifacts. AFAICT both photos show the same pattern of five rivets lined up along the langets, too.

Update - I was wrong! The teeth can be lost or damaged, and the hilts are near identical _including_ the rivets and those little barbs, but the second pic - originally from https://www.ladepeche.fr/article/2011/06/10/1102799-il-remonte-le-temps-avec-les-armes-anciennes.html - shows a different etching on the ricasso than the sword in the first pic has on either side. So they're indeed NOT the same "sword", but unless one is a forgery they appear to be a matched pair from the same maker.

In a comment like a weirdo but you'll be first to know lol. Here's a bass and an amp I made. You can wear the the amp and walk around. I need a power converter still to make that happen but still. I bet Tosche station has some. The Proton pack lights up, no sound yet. All with only a drill and a wood chisel lol

#1 & #2 are the rostrums of Sawfish. IIRC swords like that did see use in some places where armour wasnt that common, but in general they were more ornamental.

If it's really the size it looks in the second picture, it's likely a bearing sword. Basically really big parade swords that were never ever made to hit anything, just flex your status when your squire carried it behind you.

They're both pictures of the same sword (made, indeed, of a sawfish rostrum). AFAIK it's unique. Similar _looking_ weapons made of wood and lined with shark teeth were used in places like Kiribati, but this one is a purely ceremonial "bearing sword", carried like a standard by a representative of the state or household in parades and processions.

as for their use as weapons i cant remember where exactly i heard that, but they were from much smaller sawfish, and again, it was is places where armour wasnt common as they're not very effective

Oh yeah, sorry - there _are_ other novelty "swords" made of sawfish rostrums (I know of at least one other from India), but what I meant is that there's only one that looks like that shown in the pics here; both photos are of the same artifact.
And it's not so much that weapons like this would be used in the absence of armor - the cultures that used them also made perfectly good armors - but the absence of _metal industry._ We were cutting each other to pieces long before we invented steel. :)

i dont doubt that a lack of metalworking would see more people use weapons like this, but when it comes to big spiky sticks a sawfish rostrum isnt a great option cause the teeth are relatively short and not as sharp as youd expect, therefor even leather armours are pretty good at completely blocking the damage

Right, and all the sawfish "clubs" I've ever seen have been 19th Century curios and status symbols. Very similar looking shark-toothed weapons were quite common across all oceanic cultures all the way up to the introduction of steel blades, though, shark teeth being always in plentiful supply.
(PS. There's no "leather armor" IRL, and the closest historical counterparts are _plenty_ tough enough to turn steel swords as well, but that's a whole other can of extremely nerdy worms...)

The teeth can be lost and/or damaged over time, but I actually found the origin of the second pic - https://www.ladepeche.fr/article/2011/06/10/1102799-il-remonte-le-temps-avec-les-armes-anciennes.html - and their slightly higher res photo shows a different etching on the ricasso than the sword from the German Historical Museum in the first pic (I have good close-ups of both sides of that one). EVERY SOURCE ONLINE IS WRONG ON THIS, FFS! And there's a matched pair of these, neat!
