The weirdest thing i found about this prediction betting scheme is the gap between when the event that decides the winning bet ends, and when the betting actually closes.
That and the fact that “what ends up being a prediction betting event” is directly influenced by Xitter, Musk, and Trump Jr.
So yeah, Polymarket is here to stay, and receive minimal (if any) regulation.

Yeah, because the Federal government doesn't have an organization already dedicated to overseeing it. There's a federal law that "gives the CFTC exclusive authority to regulate the event contracts traded on their federally registered exchanges". Plaintiffs argue that the States can't regulate the federally registered exchanges and that, based on other caselaw, they're likely to win, so their injunction was granted.
