The Ghost from Ashoka looks like total shit and probably costs an arm and a leg.
theMightyPlatypus
Does it annoy anyone else that the box, and even the actual legos, say "Ashoka" even though it was from Rebels?
RedTwoX
Looks like it was $500 when it was released. Sold out. Folks are asking over $1K on the secondary market. I'm not sure if they are getting it, but I see listings for $1200+. https://www.hasbropulse.com/pages/G00405L00-pdp

#1 Love Angela. She actually began as a character in Spawn, published by Image Comics. She was co-created by Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane; Gaiman sued and won the sole right to her from McFarlane and turned around and sold her to Marvel, who reconned her to be Thor's sister. Her lover is Sera, a trans sorceress, and together they overthrew Hela and are otherwise altogether badasses.

captainregular
Eh, it's been a while since I figured it out, but Star Wars is no longer a sci-fi fantasy franchise or shared narrative universe. It's a STYLE, now. It's an aesthetic, a coat of paint. It's a design commodity.

Sure but "stuff with night sky" isn't it

#13 Hello. That Guy, again. Wrong lightcycle on the left
FlintNorth44
TBF...whoever made the artwork probably never saw Tron just like anyone who says it was great.
FreePalestineAndTheWorldFromIsrael
Yeah the original Tron is a rough watch but, its best viewed as though it was an art students psychedelic film project.
RedTwoX
I saw it in the theater when it released in 1982 and I was still in elementary school. I readily admit there is a whole bunch of nostalgia that goes into my continued enjoyment of the original Tron, but I do enjoy it every time I rewatch it.
SteerpikeSteerpike
Plus they included Ares in there...
FreePalestineAndTheWorldFromIsrael
That movie was great, better than I expected it to be
imguronefive
I was still disappointed that they didn't continue the story with Tron: Legacy.
But Tron: Ares was much better than I expected it to be. Especially given the Jared Leto casting. It is worth a watch.

Yep. What I really love is that the original lightcycle was completely constructed out of primitives.
BishlamekGurpgork
They also had to animate it by basically hopes and prayers. They input camera and object positions and movements where they thought everything would look good, but they had no idea what it would actually look like until the entire scene rendered.
They were inputting literal position and vector numbers by hand before they could render a test image.
Caughtintheconcentricelipsesofchaosanditsinnatemadness
It's probably just for design aesthetic.
RedTwoX
Yeah, I get that. However, I've been bustin' lydecker17's chops for two posts now because they've got a video starting with a splash screen which reads "T-65 X-wing" that has a bunch of T-70s cut it. I thought it'd be funny to call out the wrong lightcycle too ;-P

Didn't Angela debut in Spawn as one of the angels sent to hunt Spawn down? Or am I misremembering something.
fauxcault
Her first appearance
ThisGuyPostingThings
Yes, but created by Neil Gaiman, who ended up fighting Image over ownership rights, won, and gave her to Marvel, who made her Thor's sis.
johnblood616
Neil Gaiman the sexual abuser?
ThisGuyPostingThings
Yes, but that aspect is immaterial to what happened.

she was- then she was fired as angel, then they met god as a old lady, they her ribbons made sex with al 's chains ,. them they made sex ... then i stopped reading spawn so i do no remember it was like 20 years ago
FlintNorth44
This is surprisingly accurate to a Spawn storyline.
Caughtintheconcentricelipsesofchaosanditsinnatemadness
Is that when the focus was moved more towards the toys? Knew a guy who bought every figure because he thought they were the next Star Wars figures. Wonder how that turned out.
SergeyPrkl
I have all the M.A.S.K. figures and vehicles. Does it count? (Honestly, I haven't checked)

#13 It's kind of weird/sad how the TRON franchise keeps making cool films that don't do well at the box office, gain a cult following, then get sequels that don't quite tie into the continuity, lather, rinse, repeat.
Isorikk
Something about only having two nickels but it's weird that it happened twice? Also, let's not count Ares, the cult following of that one isn't big enough to fill a room
ThisGuyPostingThings
Ares just...wasn't good. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good. Legacy was great, and I thought they touched on the CLU part well enough.
RedTwoX
I haven't seen Ares yet. Legacy wasn't bad, but I think they missed an opportunity to make Clue more of a tragic character. Sure, they touched on it... but I think it would have been a better film if they leaned into it harder. Clue wasn't bad, he got bad instructions, and Flynn needed to be held accountable for that. Dafuq does "the perfect system" actually mean? Instructions unclear: Isos deleted :-P Software doesn't speak "Hippie", Flynn. Define you variables, man.
crazyspelling
I liked Ares. It was actually a good role for Jared Leto, because the guy already brings a "not quite human" element to his roles, and Ares leaned into that. I hope Disney manages to squeeze out one more while we still have Jeff Bridges.
