It's like the spacecraft that landed in France, and they built a city around it. Remember when they thought it was going to return to it's home, everybody saying "Is Paris Burning"?
Fuggin drove all the way out there to check it out while moving cross country to then get to the parking lot and find out you gotta pay to get in. BOOOOO.
My sister and I did the same thing! Traveling to visit our mom but detoured a but when we saw the sign for a crater. They wanted like 20 dollars each. No way I'm not paying that! They didn't even make the hole it was already there! I'm still salty.
Days were shorter back then. I think the sun was moving faster :). Earth rotation has been slowing down forever… but it’s like milliseconds a century or something hung ridiculous like that.

There's a documentary about this, called 'Starman' (1984) directed by John Carpenter. It answers all your questions and concerns.
Take it easy.

I never regretted visiting any natural wonder until I went to meteorology crater. That’s a whole 45 minutes and $20 I’ll never see again.
Calicious
Basically every piece of "evidence" for religion.
ManOfEvil93
There is a movie based on this location

I remember seeing it from the air on a flight from Dallas to Pheonix. Plane flew directly over it, it was awesome

Interestingly that crater was caused by meteor about the size of a regular family car.
hiyesthisissatan
Sooo, the size of a boulder?
BriscoeGrifton
A LARGE boulder.
SirChadwellHeath
Wiki says "The object that excavated the crater was a nickel-iron meteorite about 160 ft (50 m) across", "around 300,000 tonnes"

Yes they can control the meteors.
It's ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can't be done.

I went in roughly 2007-2009. I don't remember paying. Is this a recent visit?

It is a pretty damn big hole though. Like, impressively so. The kind of hole you'd die if you fell in.
