T-Minus 10 days...explained

So I've been adding a countdown to my last couple of posts, and people have taken a guess at what it means. Allow me to explain...

August 21st is my cake day.

August 21st will mark a year since I decided to try my hand at photoshopping. I began a journey that I would not have imagined in my wildest dreams. On exactly the same day that @TheSamePhotoofMichaelCeraEveryDay "retired", I had decided to begin learning how to photoshop. I didn't have the money to get the real deal, and am paranoid about "other methods" of obtaining software online, so I downloaded Gimp. (confessionbear.jpg). Inspired by what I thought was amazing creativity by those involved in #thegifwar, all I wanted to do was learn various techniques in photo-editing, with the end goal of learning how to edit .gifs. I decided to use the image of Michael Cera and see how creative I could be. This was my first ever Cera post (http://imgur.com/gallery/yglzSRj) and the rest is really weird history.
That being said, after a lot of thought, the 21st this year will also mark the end of badly photoshopped Ceras every day. I have tried (much to the annoyance of many people) to deliver and keep true to my username. Besides my week in hospital and a 10 day vacation in South Africa, I have posted (at least) one image/gif every day. So, as of August 21st my username will no longer be relevant. I will no longer be posting a new badly photoshopped photo of MIchael Cera every day. I may still (from time to time) dabble in a little tomfoolery in usersub, but I have some other projects which I wish to focus my attention on for the foreseeable future.

Some of you may be sad...

and I truly truly appreciate all the kind words and messages.

Many of you may be rejoicing.

But I have a few more tricks up my sleeves before I'm done.
The biggest being the "Cera War Selfie Weekend."

The "Cera War Selfie Weekend" ??

Here is your chance to try out your own hand at "Cerafying" some images.This weekend (20th and 21st), there will be a special topic for anyone who wants to have a go at creating some badly photoshopped OC. Badly (or expertly) photoshop yourself (yes....badly photoshopped selfies allowed) into a "battle" image or gif with Cera, and let's see how creative you all can be. Hopefully it will inspire a few people to start their own journeys into content creation...a plan so crazy it may just work.

Before I'm done, I will also be posting some of my favorite images and gifs, along with a few behind the scenes stories, and some moments that made this year unforgettable for me. It has been a crazy ride, but all things must come to an end...

tl;dr: OP is retiring his username in 2 days, but there will be some (hopefully) fun moments before he goes.
