Sound like a room full of glowsticks getting ready for a party when you stand up in the morning. Your most commonly taken drugs are Coffee and Ibuprofen.
I'm thrown by learning that Only Time was a 2000 release when Orinoco Flow was from 1988 and Pure Moods released in 1994. Like, how are we supposed to use Enya as a generational callback when she owned several decades?
Yah, you see the problem then! I remembered my parents listening to a song back in '89 and figured it was Only Time (I remembered Enya, but not the song). Turns out the song was Evening Falls and Only Time was... HIGH SCHOOL?! And she's still active? Yup. Looking at her discography, she's going from preschool up *past* grad school. That is insanely difficult to use her for specific callback.
Poor poor Americans. Have to wait till 21 to drink. But yall can sign life crushing debt at 18 and sign life away to murder brown people in other countries under a “special operation of bring democracy to heathens” (that last part is sarcasm)
America has strange sensibilities. Slightest hint at sex and a movie gets slapped with an R rating. But "oh he only murdered like 11 guys in that scene" and that's okay. Needing to be 21 to drink is dumb.
Have you had the beer in America? In Germany I could drink at sixteen because they want to share the good stuff to everyone they can. In America they gatekeep it because they know it tastes bad.
If you walk quickly and mainly on the balls of your feet there isn't a lot of weight on the heels so the spoilers force air down and improves handling at high speed. Come on, think!
I got carded once, after I was served, and they threatened to take my drivers licence because they thought it was fake...it wasn't, and I said straight up, you are stealing my legal documents, lets do this. No cops were called, I got my ID back, and I hope that POS is still regretting her one chance at authority
I grew up Texas and when turned 18 (52 years ago) it was legal for anyone 18+ to purchase alcohol. The law changed back to 21 years of age a week after I turned 21.

I use to be the young one at the breweries. Im now the old dude asking who all these kids are and why aren't they in high-school.

She can't be that old. I'm 45 and seeing her kneel down like that made MY knee's pop.......
Cilvaa
Aussie here, 18 is drinking age, meaning kids born in 2008 can drink here
GreaseMonkeyOfLove
I looked 30 when I was 18, I’ve never been carded in my life.
CodeWarrior
Do her shoes have spoilers on the back?
plutonium
No, but her crocs do.
CodeWarrior
Eh, whatever. I consider any items that go on the feet that are not strictly fabric are considered shoes.
Davedavedavedavedave
Its 18 here, so 2008
TickleMeTessa
My youngest son will be 18 next month. I’m really not ready for that
jekath
My 3 are in their 20's now. Getting close to the age their mother and I were when we first met. I used to be so young and now I'm so not.
Twinklepot
Appropriate reaction.
xj4low
Due to the music, we couldn't hear her knees pop when she knelt down.
eronth
Don't most states do that rotated ID thing now?
GozerTheGozerian
Look, we don't need to be posting this sort of violence here.

Does she have… spoilers… in the back of her shoes?

The big pain is when you cross 50 and realize you're now closer to 70 than 30.

If you're talking older than 35, yeah. Over 50, throw in something for blood pressure and possibly a statin.

I switched my audio device for this...

How could he buy a beer? 2004 was only a few years ago. he's what? 8?
FortifiedWhine
This might be funny if she actually looked older than 22 herself
CycloneSP
lul, I was gonna say the same thing; she don't look a day older than 25 XD
MisterFluffi
They need to do a follow up for people realising that the people realising the are getting older now look too young to be surprised...
alyssaaac
What do you mean? 2004 was only 10 years ago…right?
cheidiotou
What made me feel old was thinking that this was a song from my early childhood. Nope. I was almost an adult when this came out. And it's still 26 years old. The actual song I was thinking of is now 38 years old.

Overheard some young adults admiring decor from the 1970s, then did the calculation: it's the same as when I admired art deco from the twenties.
ToenailClippingsJar
I’m close to being as far away from 2000 as I was when I was born.
I always thought how ‘old’ I’d be at 2000… sigh

I've commented this before but I had a younger colleague refer to early 2000's as "the turn of the century".....that got me right in Gen X's

OK! And here did you hide the body (or do you need assistance with that)?

We can say that we lived in two Millennia (and we have a shot at having loved in three centuries)

New idea. The ability to upload your mind and work for corporations after death. You can be immortal.

I have already been dead for billions of years, this little blip in between isn't that big of a deal.

For some reason I reminded myself today that I have about 8500 days left. It’s not fair that they are going faster

I think you mean closer to death than birth.
Because I've got some news for you. Right now? You're alive. The temporal distance between you and alive is 0.0 seconds.
SergeyPrkl
Like Cleopatra lived closer to today than when the pyramids were built.
DukeDarkwood
Most of them, anyway. Including all the famous ones. But the final pyramid in Egypt used as a pharaoh's tomb was built in the 16th century BC.
(For reference, Cleopatra VII lived from 69-30 BC.)
