Probably. I couldn't imagine one person doing it.

Its like a spiralgraph but with hammers and string.

Someone has way too much time on their hands

This seems like the kind of thing that could be encased in resin to preserve it's 3D aesthetic, but also create a useful surface for a small table or desk.

The artwork is amazing. I will admit my first thought was "holy fucking tedium Batman".

My momma made these way back in the day. Very neat.

Nails and thread! Never mind the paint that is unrelated.

Super old art. Glad people are still using it.

Yeah I made one in primary school! What a throw back!

I thought to myself that she probably wasn’t even born when it was popular.

Many, many moons ago in school I learned this. I loved it though I was never as good as this woman.

Yup, used to use rubber bands IIRC

"This artwork is made with nails and thread" *immediately spraypaints it like mad*

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is just incredible

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Is some adhesive involved? Seems like a single broken thread would unravel an entire color...

Is it the 1970s again? 😎

They brought the 80s coke fueled creepo politicians back with a vengeance, so we're doing 70s crafts in 90s colors to cope 🫠

Step one. Be a beautiful young girl. ……..

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 11

Hey so the fun part about this comment?

It's likely you wish you were a beautiful young girl and should probably talk to a gender affirming therapist about it

But also it's just misogyny either way. Beautiful young girls get so much unwanted attention they become evil like old drag queens. Same reason basically, and it's just death of 1000 douchebag cuts like this

She won't see this comment, but you will

One day they will dig me out and will be buffled since I'm the only person without a single tattoo from this unholy period.

Misread as "Sting" art and thought they were gonna make a portrait of the bassist from the police using this medium

Gorgeous! I really liked the second one, but thought it could use a splash of bright color.

All the precise nailing would drive me crazy....I rather do pastel animals

3 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Pastel animals?! Yummy! (Pastel in Brazil is this fried dough. In Spanish, pastel means cake.)

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gorgeous! The art's pretty neato, too.

Video shows three different works. For those who fast-forwarded to the end.

How is she moving her hands that fast?! That would take me a lot longer to do :(

What is that music? It's really good.

Oh, flashback! Casey Kasem is announcing "Mandy" as the number one song, again. I'm sitting at our avocado green laminate kitchen table working on a string art butterfly, bathed in the blue haze of Mom's Pall Mall 100s.

Any wicker or macrame in the room?

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

haha!! YES! Mom was deep in her macrame phase and had created an elaborate archway for the kitchen doorway, and, a three tiered hanging plant holder. The plant holder was pretty rad.

That sounds bad ass, love it

it truly was bad ass!

I remember this from when I was a kid! My aunt would have us do these!

However, the lady in the video is cheating - we had to hit our fingers with the hammer.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That just solidifies the memories

Good times. After the work it was time for Sabokoaja.
