Shout out to Mike and Kyle, 2 dudes who saw me trying to change my tire, but my tire iron doesn't fit the lugs. Thankfully Kyle had a socket set that did fit. I ordered a 4way tire iron the second I got home!

Thank you Gentlemen for the assistance that saved me a tow!

The interview went well, just waiting to hear if I got the teaching job. *crosses fingers*

Did they offer to change your oil too?

If you feel like splurging, they make decent battery-powered electric impact drivers nowadays. Never take sass from a seized lug nut again.

When I was a kid, my car got stuck on the way to school(Maine backroads, no cell phone). Luckily, a truck guy showed up and pulled me out.

Mother fucking Mike and Kyle. Every time. Save some for the rest of us.

Wait, I've seen this porn...!

Screw a four way wrench, get a socket set.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get a breaker bar, much better leverage and easier to balance when standing on, if you work in a state that sees snow and road salt.

I suppose you are a hot chick?

That's a good job-gettin' story.

I was alone on my bike, ran out of fuel, on the freeway on ramp. Other bikers passed me. A truck of Mexican gardeners gave me fuel.

I will always be reminded grateful to the time I was on side of road with a flat and pulling spare out of trunk and had two guys 1/?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

come to screeching halt, jump out, grab tools and tires and change it for me before jumping into car and taking off with barely a word 2/?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m sure I could change myself, but am forever grateful they could do it so quickly and kindly. This was back in days before cell phone 3/?

And I could not afford AAA back then. 4/4

Best advice my dad ever gave me, make sure you have the right emergency equipment, before you need it, especially your car.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I should specify, that it should be in a kit, in the vehicle….

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My pop bought me my 1st AAA card in 1989. Sometimes I don't need it. Others, they're worth 5X what I pay annually. 3 tows, 50 miles. $96/yr.

Gotta be honest, I assume this ends in a spitroast, so OP really NEEDS luck to make it out or already has had great luck.

Mike and Kyle are angels. Fingers crossed on your teaching job. Pay it forward

and you all banged?

I still have faith in the human race. There really are great people out there.

My grandpa's 4way was too thick for the space between my car's lug and the tire.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

This sounds like a gay orgy metaphor that I don't understand.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The internet has ruined me. I managed to think of this entire statement as an innuendo.

I’ll save you a seat on the bus to hell.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

WTF, in what world does a tire iron not fit the lugnuts on a vehicle? Are they not all standard size? (I'm not an automobile enthusiast)

4 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

There are a handful of standard sizes which is why a 4 way works but a 4 way is like most universal tools: functional but kinda crap.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I like a well-made 4way iron. The Xpiece gives you good leverage & reach. Better than the L-shape crap they throw behind the seat any day.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a 19” L shaped one in my car. It’s just like using my 18” breaker bar at home. A 4 way is more size for no real benefit imo.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

w/ 4-way I can put my foot on one side and pull up on the other, popped lugs I could never get with the L-shaped one. *shrug*

Swollen lug nuts can be a pretty big problem on nuts with chrome. They can become so swollen a 22mm socket won't fit a 21mm nut

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Used to sell tires. Always a bit awkward explaining swollen lug nuts to customers.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If your nuts are swollen, I have a good cure. Wait, what are we talking about again?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what I said!! The lug wrench is definitely stock, still in its molded Styrofoam spot. Must be aftermarket lugs...

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I would talk to whoever touched your tires last.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just bought this used car, so maybe aftermarket lugs.

Came back to upvote this

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Sometimes with after market wheels they will use locking nuts which are keyed or sometimes different sized lugs.

4 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Interesting, thanks for that info.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Do they over better holding or is it a "my product my standard" kind of thing. I assumed all were within a single tolerance.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It sounds like a security feature. Less likely to find your car sitting on cinder blocks. Just have to keep the right tire iron in your car.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The carolla I used to drive had smaller ones than the standard tire iron my parents had. They just arent all the same.
