I read his apology/explanation/whatever it was. He ALMOST had a point in there. Like, okay, you want your music to be a space where people can get away from politics. That's valid. And he said he was okay with Macklemore using his space to spread a political message because that's his space and not his own. That's good. But the majority of the statement was excuses and justification for what he clearly knows was wrong.

If it was me? If I didn't want to use political messaging with my art, and I truly supported another artist using their art to spread an important political message, and I was the showrunner for this whole festival, I would have stood behind the artist when they were kicked off. It would suck because I was trying to avoid politics, but at that point I'm dragged in. I can't just stick my head in the sand when I'm directly connected to everything going on.

The issue is that Ed Shereen has been very politically outspoken in the past...however, his morals apparently have their limits when theres enough money on the table for him.
No one else involved in that show had the same issue, thankfully.
And due to the Streissand effect, silencing Macklemore has given him and the other artists one hell of a megaphone being heard across the world and i am here for it.

This is definitely one of the best examples of the Streisand Effect I’ve ever seen in action. If he hadn’t been kicked off the tour, nobody outside of those shows would even be talking about it. Instead now everyone is.

Rapper Macklemore was on Tour with Ed Shieran and made statements in favor of Palestine and in opposition to Genocide. Then billionaire Epstein buddy Robert Kraft told Ed he wasn't welcome at his Stadium if Macklemore played and got some of his billionaire buddies to do the same with their stadiums. Ed has enough money that he could have taken the financial hit and still had a couple hundred million dollar left over but instead he caved, kicked Macklemore off the tour.

The only influence Kraft had was to threaten to stop a concert at Gillette Stadium, and to convince Jerry Jones to threaten the same at AT&T Stadium. He didn't have a single ounce of control or influence directly on the tour. Ed could have taken his $$ from the breach of contract and held events at other venues (perhaps later in the year).

What are you bloody talking about? Robert Kraft "owns" one (1, as in singular) stadium which was on this tour, he had *zero* (none, zilch, nada) control over the tour itself. He convinced at least one rich buddy (Jerry Jones) to also threaten to cancel a show if Macklemore stuck on the tour. I am quite sure contractual clauses would have made Kraft and Jones pay out the backside *if* they'd gone ahead and cancelled shows, but they didn't have to because Macklemore left the tour.
