I was at a house party in college, and the floor collapsed- luckily, no one was home on the floor underneath, and it only fell about 2 feet.

football (soccer) stadiums are designed for this. This is not a problem, at least if the designers weren't drunk.

Designing it so soccer fans can do soccer fan stuff makes sense, but I'm still not convinced the stadium's structure should be doing that.

If it wasn't flexible, it would break. Think of glass and wood. Glass breaks instead of bending, but wood is flexible.
