No. Sanitation really started ramping up in the mid 1800s. All very important, but don't try to downplay the benefits of vaccines.

I'm not at all, but this gif makes it seem like that was the panacea. It was only one factor but there were many others. Pasteurization of milk by itself caused a huge decrease in the IMR, as did the slow acceptance of proper sanitation. I get that I'm being downvoted but I accept it. People are mad to know it wasn't any one thing and they think anyone who says "other stuff is also good" is somehow anti-vaccine.

I have to be really careful here because a lot of people are hair-trigger. Like, if someone says something negative but also false about Trump I can't say "hey, that's wrong" because I'll get downvoted to hell. I have to carefully articulate that I hate Trump but also I hate misinformation so I have to correct it but also remember that I hate Trump.
