Typical Republican call to simultaneously stop and start the violence!

The sick mail I get from the NC Republican party say that the democratic candidate for senate MUT BE STOPPED" and includes a doctored picture of Roy Cooper that makes him look old and crazed. A rather obvious plea to some lunatic to become a proud terrorist for the GOP. Irony is too thick for words.

'When the fat pedo says he wants to rape kids that look like his daughter, he means it!' Crowd, 'He should be... Uh, well, Uh, the Libs do it more!'...

Stochastic terrorism should carry heavy punishments.
'He should be shot!'
Something like that, just wow.

Ted isn't on vacation? So no natural disasters in Texas then? Good to know the early warning system is working after all the deaths on his watch.

5 days ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Texan here. The only natural disasters at the moment are the usual ones. Him. Governor Hot Wheels. Ken Paxton.

4 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sharia law?! Dude, Raphael, you are in the party of americanized sharia law, child molestation included. I guess Ted knows his party is fucked and desperately pukes this unhinged hot garbage.

They're claiming that, unless you vote Republican, there'll be planes flying into the Alamo... Women forced to wear burkas...the teaching of Arabic numerals and math like "al-gebra" in schools... It would be amusing to watch if "democrats" started doing everything the republicans say they are doing while also doing...everything the republikkkans say they want to do to them as well.

His beard got his own FBI file.

I've literally never heard anyone except republicans talk about fucking "sharia law." I've never even heard a muslim talk about it.

5 days ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 0

And it's the goddamn *Christians* trying to force their beliefs into law. Like they basically have their own religious laws - can't have sex before marriage, can't have an abortion, can't marry the same sex, etc. And that's totally fine, just like sharia law, if they *choose* to follow it. But it's the Christians trying to force their bullshit rules down everyone else's throats, not the Muslims at all.

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Y'all qaeda

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In my time on this planet, I have known several muslims, and while they were much more western as they were born/raised here, several of them did talk about their families knowing/following sharia, in the same way some Christians might talk about super conservative relatives, but I've never heard any of them talk about their families wanting to force it onto others.

5 days ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

It's because they want people to be so enraged and afraid of the concept that they kneejerk 180 degrees into passing Christian Sharia Law.
These idiots would make it mandatory to eat bacon, dismantle the FDA, have a major listeria outbreak in bacon, then be shocked that they're being fined for not eating tainted bacon.

It’s already mandatory to read the bible in elementary schools in Texas. In 2030. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/26/texas-bible-required-reading-public-school

Rep talking points sounds more and more like the memes about sweden, someone save me from my gay sharia ruled communistic hellhole /s

5 days ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 1

That's always hilarious to hear about since we Swedes are more right-leaning than most non-Swedes realise. I think we're just victims of "guilt by association", given our proximity to the evil that is russia.

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except American right wingers love Putin and Russia, for some reason

The official statements of the reps sound like any talk radio rant from the previous 40 years.

I’m learning Swedish just in case you invade Canada, and save us all!

Seriously though, I wish I could immigrate to Sweden/Norway/Denmark

5 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Don't come to Sweden. You won't be treated well by our political elite these days, I'm sad to say. I've voted to change it but I won't get my hopes up.

Wtf no! I'm learning Canadian so you can annex the US and save us! We can't have the same plan eh

It's about fuckin' time we got that 32-hour work week.

5 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Considering the productivity increases we should be more like a 10 hour work week by now. I'd settle for UBI and a 32 hour work week.

5 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You're almost there already, and not by choice. The monthly average weekly working hours of all employees in the US from 2011-2026 is apparently between 34-35hrs.
Which is probably because businesses are exploiting benefits loopholes by hiring as many part-time workers as possible.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

And that's average job, a ton of people work multiple to get by

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A ton of people are working multiple jobs just to get that 34hrs/week average. Full time employees require certain full time benefits, temp workers do not, the lack of hours is by corporate and political design, thus "not by choice".

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except the 32-hour work week we're talking about here is the 32-hour work week that includes full salary and benefits. Because all the studies on it show that worker happiness and productivity are up as well as company profits. So it's a win-win for both sides.

5 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You are assuming that improvements for workers are either neutral or positive to the billionaire leeches. They see those as negatives. More productivity doesn't help them if they have to pay a reasonable rate for it. They have spent decades pushing "lazy workers don't deserve a house when they work at shit job". They need to have people follow the narrative that they are personally responsible for not having anything, not the rich that have everything when they start the game.

5 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I know what it means, I'm just pointing out the irony of corporate media denouncing the 32hr work week as people being lazy and not wanting to work, while the truth is that corporations aren't even scheduling people for 30hr work weeks in a 40hr work week system due to corporate loopholes.
What they're complaining about is the idea of people being paid more money and having benefits, but they're not going to say that.

The owners of many news outlets are terrible but when you say "the media" it sounds like you're referring to journalists as well and they don't deserve that.

5 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yes they do. I've yet to hear journalists stand up when one of these Nazis starts spewing their vitriol or starts attacking the press. All journalists fear losing access than pointing out Nazi lies and hate. That's why we all fail and will be the USA's downfall.

5 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What are you talking about, a great deal of journalism is about the administration's attempts to intimidate the press.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So... When trumpedo angrily lunged at a reporter when she asked why he needed to giveaway $5k checks if his polices were so great, all the other reporter demonized his reaction? or did they move on like it was nothing and his behavior is somehow normal? No one defends in the moment... It's always some book-deal years later about how they suffered, yet did nothing in the moment. And there wont be a later if journalists don't stand up or have integrity against this bully.

4 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's about preserving their access. There's no law requiring the president to give the press any access, it's at his discretion. As your comment shows, there was a great deal of coverage of that moment later. It would not help at all to get into a playground-level confrontation with him in the moment, because everyone can already see what happened.
