They will kill kittens sometimes but in the UK and other places where they're urban, they uuuuusually get along with cats. That being said? There's a stray colony and LARGE foxes in my neighborhood here in Germany and they will take small cats. We've unfortunately had them snatched right under the window; the sounds are horrific. Keep your cats indoors, folks.

Many have experienced that foxes have taken all the cats in the neighborhood, and specialize in catching cats. A young fox will probably be very careful before it knows how to overcome a cat. An old family friend got a cat, runt of the litter. Tabby cat, they named him Hobbes.
Hobbes preferred fresh fruit over kibble.
Hobbes grew up to become an absolute UNIT. He would fight the neighborhood dogs of any size and win. He killed several. He killed raccoons. He killed everything that crossed his path.
House down the street sued them over a dead dog so they had Hobbes declawed. He would still box the shit out of other pets and animals but with no defenses they made him an indoor kitty

Every year our neighborhood loses outdoor cats to foxes. I think we're honestly just down to one black and white that lives a few houses down, there used to be so many you'd always have a kitty company outside gardening, and it was never your cat.

Fox barks like a medium-sized dog. Short and a bit silent bark, one to three times. The young ones have bright voices, while the old males are extra rusty and rough.

I don’t think I have ever heard a fox bark as part of the usual late night cacophony, however I have definitely heard them screaming/hollering/ yowling. It’s a weird sound, it does kind of sound like an old woman screeching. But yips and barks are not what come to mind when I think of foxes vocalizing

All dogs can make different sounds. Puppies also have their differences. But when we hear a fox in the forest, it lets out small barks as it patrols its territory at night. It is rare that we hear puppies playing, but I have seen and heard them. Much like puppies. The mating game of foxes can produce many sounds much like a dog. But mostly we hear little barks as they move around. They are probably males.
