Must be nice to live in a place where the annual differences in temperature and humidity don't drastically alter the size and shape of every item in the house or building. In the summer, I have to physically adjust the hinges on most of my doors so they work again, and then back again in the winter. It's like the worst kind of daylight savings ever. I live in the St. Louis area, near three major rivers. The air here can often put a candy shell coating on most cotton candy.

I've learned the hard way that harsher climates usually necessitate simple mechanisms for outdoor use through different seasons. More small moving parts means more chances for breaking, jamming, expansion/contraction, and ice buildup.

I love those cuz if you're installing them in the summer they will be gapped to hell in the winter. Install in the winter and they will fuze into a brand new single piece of wood in the summer.

Eh, it probably won't just slide smoothly in like in the render, but the top latch designs here are probably among the best of all these for withstanding changes to temp and humidity since they're some of the simplest designs.
